Economy Donald trump to impose Tariffs feb.1st.

Haha it's beyond that. I've literally stated my OWN distaste of Trump for years here and he can't or won't reconcile that I also have disdain for the Dems. Like...I criticize Trump all the time but his brain short circuits to "You're just both sidesing because you secretly love Trump!" or some comical trash.

At this point predictable doesn't begin to describe it.
Yes, and I've made my case several times on this account and my last one.

I don't expect everyone to remember but maybe don't immediately flag somebody as thy enemy and instantly go on attack mode.

That being said @Islam Imamate is still better than many of them in this regard, in that he at least makes an attempt to converse with you instead of outright flaming. We actually agree on a few different topics, but definitely not anything involving Donny T lol.

Are you allergic to honesty? My recent post history is right there to see. You're a mod FFS, so I'm pretty sure you know that. And you can't see why I'd be more than skeptical of your intellectual honesty when you call me a "faux centrist"? (Which is funny since I don't even claim to be a centrist--I lean different ways on different issues but more right than left, but just can't stand Trump). When I spend 2 days calling him out with no mention of Dems...but the second I do say that they are disconnected you are right there to spew the same crap?

If you're a fraction as smart as I hope you are, you'll quickly admit that it's pretty obvious as to why I'd think your motivations are void of intellectual honesty and say "Okay my bad". But something tells me that won't happen, and you'll chalk it up to "coincidence" or say "well I ahh...don't read every post but happened to see that one of yours out of all the rest..." But maybe you'll surprise me.
Your second post ITT was this
He's kinda right though.

These tariffs are ridiculous, the epitome of hubris and ignorance imo. And it's Trumps narcissism that's driving things. But the Dems are so fucking disconnected, they can't communicate why this is such a big deal on a broad scale--in layman's terms. They're stuck between this pandering to the every man schtick ("they're gonna jack up the price of your beer!") and sounding like pompous elites talking down on people.

Like...this really shouldn't be tough to sell to the American people as to why it's a massive overreach and bad for the economy. Trump's ego has given them a softball, and they're still (so far anyway) whiffing.
So yeah didn't take long for the both sides crap. If you make a post I think is bad I'm going to call it out and I especially dislike the false equivalencies and lazy "both sides" stuff you're prone to.
No, it's that you don't like someone with a different view.
Nah, I can get along fine with people who have differing views so long as they're reasonably well informed or at least have a level of confidence in what their saying that matches their level of knowledge.

You on the other hand are often confident and clueless.
And more so that you think you are the arbiter of what a "false equivalence" is. Except you aren't.
I never said I was the arbiter of what a false equivalency, I just happen to think you engage in them frequently and I doubt I'm the only one. I reply to your posts because I think they're in some ways representative of a kind of lazy, cynical thinking that has become more common nowadays.

Pointing it out and making it a focal point are two vastly different things though, right. All I saw nonstop was "He'll tale away your abortion rights" and "He's a danger to democracy".

To be clear, maybe a different focus with the same candidate yields the same result. I have no idea. All I know is that what they tried...didn't work. Or come close to working.
That last part is a bit of an exaggeration, isn’t it? That was the 2nd closest election since 1968. And in Congress, we lost just 4 Senate seats and gained 2 House seats. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a good thing for my side. But it was no beatdown, it was no mandate.

Trump is a danger to democracy, and I 100% agree with that being a central message. We are 100% right about that. Same for a woman’s right to choose. They should have been winning messages. I think we could’ve communicated them better, people are just not well informed about what was happening, particularly Trump’s felonies. Now we’re all going to learn the hard way.

This is the first post I made ITT responding to him
You're blaming the Dems for this? Trump ran on imposing tariffs and citing the negative of tariffs was a core attack against him, if you're surprised by this then idk what to tell you.
I don't think I was out of bounds here.

The 12 liberals left using the word oligarch constantly are pathetic but I guess when that's all you got left.

This was a proposal already put in place from December.

Good timing, knowing Trump is about to take office in a month. Why 12/2024 instead of 12/21 or 12/22?

I agree the timing is important. But it's not because of the tariffs. So this whole "nothing ever happens wins again" thing is inaccurate at best.

Trump already caved. All a publicity stunt the “deal” with Mexico is the same agreement Biden has had with them

So we are the ones arming the cartels and then getting angry when they use it to traffic drugs to us? Sounds about right really

Like I said, a bunch of posts across numerous threads only calling out Trump, yet you somehow come here and latch on in an attempt to say "See, can't post something negative about him without criticizing the Dems too!" But yeah, ignore those others and pretend this is the first time in the last couple days I've discussed this topic. You've gotta be kidding me. Like...you're really that myopic that you don't see your own hypocrisy? Amazing.

I do like how one of the deals is to stop guns from Mexico coming into America.

Clown world proposal, but okay, I'm on board.

The only thing we've truly gained from this Columbia/Mexico/Canada shtick is 10,000 Mexican soldiers on the US border.

well somebody has gotta be in charge of what comes into the united states through the US border, and if border patrol and US customs and immigration ain't capable of doing their jobs, then maybe the mexican federali's can get some offices over at the US border and wave people and their drugs into the country i guess.

i mean if that's not what they're doing, then they may as well just be posing for the cameras with a thumb up their asses. what are the mexican soldiers supposed to do about the drugs and illegals showing up at the US border? are they taking charge of the united states border now or what? hope you guys speak spanish when you're coming into the united states from mexico through the US border, because i guess they've got this notion that other countries are supposed to be able to secure america's borders or some shit.

Of course the tariffs had an effect. You've already agreed about the timing. Here's Trump a month before Canada's December press release

Sure. Because if there's anyone I trust to guard our borders and *not* take bribes, it's the Mexican armed forces.

I'll be sure to read all your posts before responding to your clueless takes next time.

ah yes, at levels never before seen. ya'll remember the last time their was a major drug bust of fentanyl sent in from canada arriving at the US border?

yeah, me neither. but i'm sure it happens every other day ending in y over in donald trump's fairytale funhouse i'll bet. they're eating the dogs.

So he threatened the tariffs, Canada made the proposal, and he threatened the tariffs again until Canada said "We gotcha."

Hey, a good Ole game of chicken never hurt anybody.

Nah, instead just continue to look like a goof when I'm calling out Trump and getting likes for my takes on the tariffs from those renowned right wing nuts like @BFoe and the second I mention the Dems, jump in and wave your arms in the air to point out how "uninformed" I am. It's a terrific look for you.
