I haven't seen anything about the actual deployment of the personnel, equipment and technology on the Canada's side of the border since they made the announcement 7 weeks ago. Maybe Trudeau was sitting on his hands and needed a reminder.

But aside from that, it’s the main humanitarian arm of our government, and does a lot to fight disease, poverty, helping people recover from natural disasters—and, as I mentioned, help facilitate significant economic trade partners. The growth we made with USAID countries in trade was a significant factor in us getting out of the last recession when we did, this isn’t a minuscule thing as you try to paint it.
There’s really no good reason whatsoever to oppose USAID. It does tremendous good around the world while helping the US grow economically.

Firstly this was in response to the threat of tariffs in the first place .This announcement was to implement this over 5 years and spending 1.3 billion.

Now we are looking at closer to 1.6 Billion over a shorter timeframe, focused more on immediate action. Canada gave a half assed solution that would be not much more than yet another bureaucratic money pit. Now they are forced to do some real work. Huge difference.

I'll be honest, I didn't see a deal coming. I thought Trump The Merciful was gonna go ham and starve us out. It also shouldn't go unnoticed that the future PM was also on the call today. Might've had an impact.

That all said, we're gonna have daggers hanging over our heads until the the USMCA deal is re-negotiated. Trump ain't gonna be playing when they do that shit. Buy Canadian.

Even then, apparently Biden negotiated the same 4 years ago without the tariffs.

Most fentanyl goes through legal ports of entry so it'll do nothing to stop it.

The point is that on THIS TOPIC I was doing nothing but posting things being critical of Trump. A bunch of posts. The fact that they were liked by left leaning posters is only relevant in that it helps show the direction and intention of those posts. Follow so far? God I hope so...

THEN, after making all those posts ON THIS SAME TOPIC, I brought up the Dems once and you immediately jumped on it.
