Economy DOGE team interview on Fox, Musk there too

I watched this last night and my thoughts (I haven't rewatched and it was late so my memory might be a bit shit):

I thought the DOGE team came off well, despite me not necessarily buying what they are selling. But overall, I do think they came off well to the average viewer and I would gladly be wrong if they are successful in revitalizing the government technology.

The second part of the interview with Musk alone I thought he came off really bad and felt like he was pushing hard towards censorship.

Technically what they proved there was that the system used to run this multi trillion dollar operation is antiquated and wildly not up to the task. Also even cnn had to report hundreds of billions of dollars improperly paid…last year

From what I understand, some errors in the code or data entry cause the date of birth to default to 1897 for some entries in the database.

The system however is setup to stop payments at 115 years.

It’s an issue with a very outdated coding language used. It doesn’t interface with modern systems. It’s a very big problem everyone glossed over running to their news source’s propaganda

But so far I haven't seen them going after any of the real waste and the real problems in our government. It's been mostly cruel-hearted cutting of human beings and benefits that should be there for human beings and also lying and exaggerating the numbers.

Medical fraud is almost always on the corporate side so of course they haven't found any yet. Military spending fraud is easy to find. It's no bid contracts and it's the revolving door between generals and private weapons manufacturers and suppliers.

The big ticket money items that are obvious to everyone involved aren't even going to be touched. I bet they never get touched at all but they'll sure fire a lot of people and get rid of a lot of human beings cuz they are scumbags and losers.

Cutting social security is a bottom line for me. The fact that they are secretly covertly and underhandedly and dishonestly going after social security and making it hard for some widow Grandma who's alone in the world to get her benefits. That's a hard line for me if you guys support that you are the enemies of the people and not in the lying shitbag way that Trump says it. But you actually are the enemies of the people.

And let's not forget. All of these cuts are just so they can give massive tax breaks to the super wealthy. It's sickening disappointing and made ing.

I think in general the idea that using outdated software is a problem in government isn't exactly correct.

More modern systems are open source and/or widely available. Using antiquated, proprietary systems can be more secure if only for the fact that very few people actually know how it works and they can't interface directly with modern systems and networks without specific expertise.

Can improvements be made? Sure, but you have to weigh the cost of convenience vs security.

That's why the most important stuff is still stored in mines and bunkers, not on a server.

Dude the vast majority of the left was against it even before the process started. I see no evidence of them going after Social Security. Again no matter what this was always going to receive push back

On a state government level, about 8-9 years ago, I was using software written in the mid 90s.

You're mentioning Elon while I'm talking about the whole team (watch the interview). I would think it would be easy to locate errors or fraud in the government. No one has ever claimed that they were efficient or error free. Ultimately it will all come out in the wash and the truth is the truth. They said there were 4 million credit cards issued and active. Is that true or false. I can't say but I can say that there doesn't need to be nearly that many
