How do you see the fight going tomorrow with JDS?

I think 60/40 Gane.
JDS is gun shy now. His style was always dependent on speed and offence. Another example of declining offence and then defence looking poor.

I see Gane coming as the agressor and a late TKO (if JDS just takes punishment) or decision.

However, if JDS is even a fraction of his old self then Gane will answer some questions.

Skillset wise he's more of an old breed guy. He looks to have very good striking and has pretty good submissions. Would like to see what his wrestling looks like against someone like Overeem, Blaydes or Stipe.

he’s alright don’t get me wrong and he’s good at what he does.

but when old school Cain or JDS or even Francis rose through the contenders, they had that feel to them, this guy.. not so much.

I have watched his fights and he is decent but has a shit ton of improvement to do on his defence.
His power output is not on the Ngannou scale so his exposed chin (in most of his punching combos) is twice as bad for him to get clipped.
He can get away with a lot because of the shallow division but I'd favour Black Beast, Rozenstruick, Ngannou, Stipe and Tom Aspinall over him by K.O.
Volkov to beat him by decision. Tybura by decision.

He is a prospect and remains that (in my eyes) until he gets wins over those guys.

But this does not take away his potential. Remember his level of competition thus far.

Black Beast was JDS's last win. JDS was too technical a striker for Black Beast and you think he's going to KO Gane? Also, LOL at Tom Aspinall having anything for him. Tybura would get KTFO. Volkov doesn't have the wrestling to threaten Gane and will get KTFO.

On this topic Gane reminds me of Joshua in the sense that he looks absolutely athletically gifted yet he doesn't rely on his power.

True. I like Gane and all, but one would expect a guy with such a striking background and an impressive physique to hit harder, or at least to finish opponents with strikes more often than not.

Last night, I was impressed with his low kicks, but the hands didn't look all that threatening (I know, he rocked JDS with a JAB, but besides the success he had with that specific punch, the guy just doesn't put a whole lot of punching combos together, I find).

He does have some nice inside elbows, though, and hebprobably had a ton of respect for JDS' hands. But I realized yesterday that he doesn't even have 10 pro fights yet. He just beat a former champ (albeit an over-the-hill one), so that's feather to his cap, but I'd be curious to see how he deals with a pressuring wrestler who can throw punches too, such as Blaydes or Stipe, or with a powerful boxer that moves forward a lot, doesn't give him anybspace and cuts angles successfully to nullify his movement.

As I said, he's hype-worthy without a doubt, but he's not the up-and-coming HW that I am most excited about...that would be the man he was originally slated to face, Sergei Pavlovich, who I think would have been a tough matchup for Gane.
