Aspinall vs Gane is the fight to make

Gane is very clearly as elite as anyone in the UFC HW division who isn't Aspinall or Jones. There's no one in the division who's even close to deserving a shot at either of those two. So then the booking question becomes which fight is most likely to provide some entertainment value while not being a complete squash fight, and the only problem with Gane/Aspinall in that regard is that Gane really should have at least one other fight first coming off of a major injury that could easily affect his mobility and kicking even after healing normally and fully.

Anyone who can grapple easily nullifies Gane. Almeida or Blaydes would eat him alive. He only looks good when given cherry-picked matchups against fat brawlers. He’s gotten embarrassed in his last 2 title fights and came off a super questionable win.

Gane has fought better competition than tom I think is the loose point

Jon jumped at fighting him and kicked his ass yeah, and he had a solid showing against Ngannou but again..lost. Tom can hardly help that Jon wont fight him or that Ngannou left before he got into the title picture.

As far as actual WINS? he beat Rozenstruik, Tai, Lewis and an old JDS who had lost his last 3 fights. While Tom beat Pav, Blaydes , Tybura and an old washed AA. Then they have two common opponents in Volkov and Spivac and Tom handled both much more quickly and easily. I wouldnt say thats really "better competition" for Gane, especially when you take into account that hes been in the UFC a year longer.

Pav had the most momentum and highest stock when Tom beat him than anyone Gane has beaten. Theres also a vibe with Gane that they've kept him away from stylistically dangerous fights where he might end up getting wrestlefucked, not an accusation that could be made at Tom.

Well yeah...when Jones saw the striker Ngannou beat Gane by wrestling him he was very willing to take the fight with Gane. Thus far he seems unwilling to take the fight with Aspinall. It's hard to face the same "level of competition" if the top guys are scared to fight you and won't sign.

Gane won rounds 1 & 2. People gave Volkov round 2 because the fight was "close" to even it up. That's a hallmark of a retard that shouldn't score a fight between two homeless bums, let alone a UFC fight.

No the hallmark of a retard is hiring judges that don't know how to assess damage and score a round properly. Which is what happened. Volkov didn't get round 2 to "even it up". He got round 2 because Gane only really landed leg kicks and they weren't the damaging ones where guys visibly show they hurt. Volkov cracked Gane numerous times and landed a backfist that had Gane visibily show the effects of it.

so 19 out of 20 media as well as most of the internet gave it Volkov but they are wrong just cause you all the all knowing said so? GTFO outta here. Corners of the internet like this were all talking about the UFC's sucky sucky bribe job to the judges to give it to Gane in order to protect jon's win. Gane lost and he was doing a lot of ducking too. Jon also lost to dommy who went onto getting knocked back to back to back after that.


The scores may have been close but the ratio of people who think Volkov beat Gane is not close. It's still a robbed store if you stole a dollar value item. Being close or minuscule does not mean nothing was stolen
