Gane has fought Jon Jones and Ngannou.....who has Aspinall had to balls to get in there with on that level?

Literally everyone he's been offered except JJ because JJ is terrified and won't fight him. JJ is too busy hiding behind vague comments about living his best life and not being interested in fighting up and comers despite being the fucking "champion"

It's embarrassing for everyone involved, especially lame sherdoggers who feel some weird impulse to excuse Jon of everything he does (or doesn't in this case)

This is what happens, number one contenders change. At one point Forrest Griffin was the Jon Jones of 205.
Aspinall more comparable to JDS after the Carwin win at this stage than Gane. He has 5 first round finishes of guys in the top 10, and has almost never lost an exchange, never mind a round. No number one contender in the history of the sport has done that to earn a shot.

As far as the early finishes yeah, but Gane was incredibly dominant all the way until his title fight, and he started off dominating the striking there as well until Ngannou switched to the grappling attack. No one really touched Gane in any major way during his entire ascension, nor did Ngannou during the standup.

I will say that I think he'll do a lot better in the rematch ready to deal with the grappling. I don't think he'll win but probably Aspinall's toughest fight yet and I could see him having to get tagged up a bit for the first time to get the win, like the Arlovski fight but to the next degree.

Any 2-1 decision isn't robbed. The fight should have been 5 rounds though like their first fight.

Also UFC's own stats show Gane winning rounds 1 & 2 so I'm not exactly sure how you're considering this robbed.

Media are RETARDS. They are well known for scoring the fight "as a whole" based on their feelings after a fight. You take any fight in which a Fighter A clearly won rounds 1 & 2, but Fighter B dominates round 3, and the retards in the media will inevitably score that fight 29-28 for Fighter B, because they are ... retarded. The majority of the fans are in the same boat.

The media are retards?? Maybe some yeah, but the AC judges are often WORSE. They use boxing judges that don't even understand some aspects of MMA.

The fight was a robbery. Round 2 stats don't "show Gane won". He landed leg kicks, most of which weren't hard at all and Volkov landed clean punches on Gane's face. All "significant" strikes aren't created equal and damage CLEARLY favored Volkov.

Some media members are very good at scoring fights (and yes some are terrible). When it's 19 of 20, it becomes very obvious that essentially EVERYONE knows who won the fight. And Gane did not win that fight.

Edit: and as was mentioned, the media are mostly releasing their scores as the fight unfolds. So your assertion that what happens in round 3 affects their rd 1 and 2 scores is mostly untrue.

It was competitive but Gane won that fight.

Gane was the Aspinall of the division not long ago, now everyone is jumping off the bandwagon and somehow rationalizing that they shouldn't even fight....deep down it must be fear and insecurity as they know Tom gets by on how he moves for his size and Gane is just as big and moves just as well, with a much better rounded striking game.

I'd fucking love to see that fight. Both guys are the "moves-like-a-middleweight" studs of the division. Would be great to finally see who's the better gazelle.... unless of course Aspinall takes Gane down and Gane proves he hasn't improved there a lick and gets promptly submitted.

Gane won rounds 1 & 2. People gave Volkov round 2 because the fight was "close" to even it up. That's a hallmark of a retard that shouldn't score a fight between two homeless bums, let alone a UFC fight.

Gane is very clearly as elite as anyone in the UFC HW division who isn't Aspinall or Jones. There's no one in the division who's even close to deserving a shot at either of those two. So then the booking question becomes which fight is most likely to provide some entertainment value while not being a complete squash fight, and the only problem with Gane/Aspinall in that regard is that Gane really should have at least one other fight first coming off of a major injury that could easily affect his mobility and kicking even after healing normally and fully.
