Ankalaev is the most boring Champ in UFC history

And don’t even get me started on the time Alex Pereira, a guy who literally has a single wrestling move in his entire arsenal, took him down like he was a toddler. If Ankalaev is supposed to be some kind of dominant force in the light heavyweight division, getting ragdolled by a guy whose grappling skills barely register on the radar is just embarrassing.
Those dumps/trips/throws were from the Muay Thai clinch. Alex is a great striker so it doesn't surprise me that he has some nice moves from the clinch. It was still impressive to do against a guy from Dagestan, who has surely dabbled in wrestling, sambo, and judo from a young age. It was still impressive but those were not full on takedowns. They were trips from the MT clinch and Alex is a master striker. Still really cool to see Alex has that in his arsenal. Would have loved to see Alex in PRIDE ruleset where he could stomp or soccer kick after dumping someone to the ground or dropping them.

At least these wall n stallers are exposing some flaws of the rules. Their success depends on a legal loophole.

Feels that way currently. The lay n pray or holding up against a cage needs some mild changes but I don't see the UFC doing it.

I mean, maybe. But he's been champ for like 4 days, so this seems kinda dumb

These fits of rage are so hilarious and really show some... selective perception of how the fight actually went.

Ankalaev won one round using his "boring wall-n-stall". The other 20 minutes of the fight consisted of him chasing Poatan around the cage with consistent forward pressure. He was the one bringing the fight to the UFC's most credentialed striker and a dangerous knockout artist. Not only did he succeed in doing so, but he landed considerably more strikes across the duration of the bout and was the guy who actually came close to finishing his opponent.

Meanwhile, Poatan was content to get on his bike and throw calf kicks at range. What's more is that this is what Pereira fans used to make fun of Izzy for doing and cheered on Poatan for hunting down the "boring point-fighter" and knocking him out.

It often takes two guys to make a fight boring. If you're going to blame one, then blame both. And frankly, I don't think the fight was all that boring.

yeah and now he's acting like there's no proof of him betting his account even though me and many others remember his post lol

Did you not read the part where he refused to accept the offer? Typical Dagestani reading comprehension
your offer was for him to jump off a roof or something like that so of course he's not gonna accept it, you still bet your account on the fight and lost the bet getting the fight horribly wrong

That's not how a bet works, if the other person is unwilling to fulfill their side of the offer, it's void, regardless my bet won or not.

Ankalaev just outstruck the 2-time Glory World Champion kickboxer. That's pretty exciting to me and I'm looking forward to all of his future fights. Never considered him boring, he's currently one of the most skilled and compelling fighters in the UFC.
