A Brutally Honest Review UFC 319’s Main Event.

"the onus was on Khamzat" is fucking insane lmfao. People just forgiving DDP for accepting defeat while being mad at Khamzat for ragdolling him. Absolute fucking retards man
Ragdolling = paddy cake taps to the face and/or knees to the tush.

Retards > You

Competition is exciting, as is uncertainty and an even contest.

Complete and utter dominance usually is not exciting. Let's not confuse boring because everyone sucked and it was all shit, and boring because he was so dominant the the defending champ couldn't or wouldn't muster any kind of a counter to what everyone knew his strategy was going to be.
If you're in a position to finish the fight but don't even try and then continue to play with your food for the next 25 minutes, that's boring and it's against the spirit of the sport. He can do that within the current rules and he probably will because in a 5 round fight he clearly has to go into econo safe mode, but he will rightfully lose fans and earn indifference.

Imagine going back in time to last year and telling people that Belal would put on a top-3 fight of the year in 2025, and that Khamzat would have a boring decision against DDP that made fans miserable
Forget last year, try last WEEK. I'm not sure so many people were so excited for a fight that was that much of a dud in UFC history.

TS, you don't know what Lay'n'pray is.

Lay'n'pray is to lay on your back with your opponent in a dominant position, holding on to him praying the ref stands you up. (You lay'n'pray from the bottom position, not the top you doofus).
Lol you've been Sherdog member sinsce 2010 and still don't know what lay'n'pray is?

I was always under the impression that it's a tactic used by dominant grapplers to win rounds and get a decision victory. Lay on your opponent, and pray the fight doesn't get stood up where you're in a far more vulnerable position. I can remember people joking about Tim Sylvia having a "lean and pray" style.

If the guy completely turtles up and won't take any risks to get out of the shit situation he's in, and willingly accepts the "L" instead of trying to change the status quo, that also contributes to it being boring and it's against the spirit of the sport.

Much more than the person who is cruising to victory, who does not need to change anything to become champ, the person who is clearly going to lose the belt, but decides losing by decision is okay with them.... THAT person has the onus to take some risks, which makes the fight more exciting whether it backfires or succeeds.

Sorry, but DDP had good defenses against the submission opportunities that were there, but part of those good defenses was a complete turtling up and accepting the loss. It's weird that folks like you don't think accepting the loss and not even trying to do something that would change that and allow a chance to try for a win is "against the spirit of the sport."

Thats how I see it, but being on the bottom could work too. However the term "blanket" typically is used with a lay n pray description, so its more accurate.
