Every fight he shows up and tries his absolute best to remove any possible excitement any fight could have in any way, shape, or form.

I’m not some huge Belal fan but you could make many of the same arguments for Merab and yet he seems to be a fan favourite these days. Really makes you wonder.

Merab has put in a lot of work to sell himself. He has charisma and, people might hate on Nina, but appearing with her has really brought out his personality. He's a fun guy.

Belal is a dork, no ifs ands or buts about it. Him and Demetrious are the two biggest fuckin nerds ive ever seen in the MMA game.

But they dont get fuckin beat, so you gotta deal with them.

The more people hate Belal the more I root for him, cos the bottom line is they dont get beat, and despite his dorkus malorkusness, hes an elite level fighter and he deserves respect.

Agreed to an extent, but that's not necessarily synonymous with deserving to be liked. When you talk shit about people like he is doing here, it's not wrong to criticize him back; he opens himself up to a certain amount of disrespect by saying disrespectful things about others, which is why DDP is giving him the business here. Maybe it's gamesmanship, but that doesn't change that he is choosing to stand in the kitchen where things get hot.

I used to be a pretty big Belal hater but he won me over with his activity and willingness to fight anybody. Merab is very similar but up until his most recent fights he wasn’t very well liked and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that things have changed since fighting two very divisive fighters.

No people only didn't like merab because of how he did aldo that's it. that's all anyone holds against him, that and not fighting aljo.

Merab has a colorful personality; I don't see them the same at all. His fight with Umar was a lot of fun. I can't say I think that about Belal's fights.

I will begrudgingly admit he has high-level skills; I just don't like the entertainment value of how they play out.
