374 murders this year another 650 or so shot that survived. With time left in the year, they predict it may be around 450 by year’s end. It’s still multiple times the national rate.

So numbers are down from last year, where there were over 1000 people shot and more people murdered, but then take a small hop back to 21 and they recorded over 800 murders and thousands of shootings. Those were numbers not seen since the 90s, however the late 2010s were also always hovering around 600 on average. On the pd, we used to take a poll at the beginning of the year for guesses as to how many murders Chicago would have by the end of the year. One year, a guy on my shift just threw out a number like 676 or something and he was right on the money. He won quite a bit of money since almost the whole department chipped in.

The point is that Chicago is a shithole with tons of violent gangs that are driving the violence using teens as their soldiers. The inept mayor and city council and even worse da kim fox push progressive politics on the police and justice system and it allows weak sentences and a revolving door of criminals free on the streets to wage havoc on normal citizens. Like the asshole that at that woman on fire being arrested 72 times. Chicago earned its shitty reputation even if it’s murder rates will not eclipse the rates of smaller cities with violence issues.

I am normally a verbose motherfucker, but I will try. The troops do very little because they can’t enforce laws, but their presence makes criminals uncomfortable to be wilding out all the time. It also makes normal citizens uncomfortable-as it should.
