Governor Orval Faubus defied a US Supreme Court ruling and Eisenhower was correct to respond by sending in the 101st Airborne.

Agreed, but until then at least stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, this is not a snap the fingers fix. And also, not a fix that the left will like. Soft on crime doesn't fix things with these areas. I watched Rudy Guiliani fix Manhattan and NYC in a few years. He first attacked quality of life crimes, which led to bigger stops. I saw an amazing transformation. Truly amazing. 42nd street was a war zone when I was a kid. It's Disney now. Why anyone would fight being strong on crime when the residents are pleading for help is hard to believe.
