Rage porn media which is common these days. She got what she wanted because she will be featured on Right Wing media.

Weird take by her. If White Christians need to have the country "given back" to them, does this lady think the country now belongs to someone else? I mean yeah that's pretty divisive talk for sure but beyond that...she then thinks the power dynamic has shifted to where white people don't hold it?

Not sure who she is TBH, (maybe I'd recognize her but I don't pay attention to the names of these commentators) but it kinda seems like she's declared that institutional racism vs POC came to an end sometime in the past 4 years?

Very hot take, lady. Smoldering.
She’s an idiot is who she is

I don’t pay attention to her either.

But I don’t think the issue is that Joy Reid thinks the country currently “belongs” to someone else; the issue is that white evangelicals *fear* that the country will soon “belong” to someone else.

This fear is at the heart of many of their policies and ideas: the Great Replacement nonsense, laws that marginalize LGBTQ people, book bannings, dishonestly expanding the definition of CRT to encompass any sociological or historical study of race, laws that subjugate women…

It’s right in the label “conservative”—i.e., to “conserve” or “keep what we have”— and it’s implicit in the meaning of MAGA: to Make America Great Again (you know, like it used to be, *wink wink*, back when women and minority groups had no real voice in the societal conversation).

It's Joy Reid. One of the interchangeable talking heads on MSNBC. Evaluating everything through race is literally all she does. She's probably the most openly racist piece of shit on the air. She makes Don Lemon look like a moderate.

2106 187,000 people voted in Iowa‘s GOP caucus and this time only 110,000 voted which is only 14% of total voters in Iowa.
I am beginning to think Trumps support is just his hardcore base but he has lost a ton of the middle GOP voters based on the massive decline in turn out from 2016.
Curious to see if it was the weather or the next primaries have the same massive decline in turnout from the GOP compared to 2016.

Forgot to add, this is the lowest turnout since 2008.
Yeah, it will be interesting because we know Trump will drive turnout from his opposition. He’s really the only gop candidate that would. And his fanatic cult isn’t big enough to counter normal people. Hell, we saw how even his endorsements rained death on candidates everywhere.

Should be noted, though, that Iowa has been a terrible predictor of the gop nominee. The last two Iowa winners that ended up being nominated were GWB and Bob Dole, iirc. Not that I think Trump isn’t basically a lock, legal woes notwithstanding.

Why do I get the feeling that Vivek is gunning for the position as Trump's running mate

I'm thinking that Trump is going to go with Keri Lake from Arizona.

I think Vivek will end up in the Trump admin somewhere, but not VP. I think Trump's VP pick will be either Kristi Noem or Dr. Ben Carson. I agree with @GearSolidMetal that to best help Trump/MAGA, is to win the senate seat there.

Not sure if you saw the actual clip, i tried on the foxnews link, but took forever to load. Here is the clip in a tweet, if that makes it easier. In addition to the opinion itself, look at how she delivers it, how the other person, Chris Hayes, just nods in agreement. These people are so sure of themselves and self-righteous as they spew the most divisive rhetoric ever.

Just look at these freaks try and comment on this. These people are sick. Just listen to her, "i am an expert on this fascism and authoritarianism, i study this!". I wish there was a clip of Morning Joe and Mika's rage session this morning. They were especially raging about the poll that the majority of the caucus goers think Biden is not legit.

It’s an interesting and well articulated perspective.

I wonder, is there room for people who don’t think there is a “great replacement” effort but want to halt mass migration, don’t believe that there are dozens of genders, want to keep biological males out of women’s bathrooms/sports and think the whole movement is a net negative for society but also believe that adults can do what they want to their bodies in isolation, want to keep perverse books out of children’s libraries and believe “CRT” is a faulty framework that causes division rather than progress?

Those are my beliefs. I don’t believe they need to be framed in the way you have. I would say that there is an element of the Trump party that is incapable of nuanced understanding so they probably do frame it the way you do, unfortunately.

I don’t think my beliefs are extreme and it’s a shame we have to frame them in extreme terms. This is why we can’t come together as a country.

In terms of the low turnout in Iowa, it's obvious. Trump was so far ahead that the election was a formality. Hard to get pumped up and vote for candidates that are literally 30 points behind him.

In terms of the "Trump effect" galvanizing his opponents, there's also gonna be the "Biden effect" doing the same thing. The Honeymoon phase is long over. He ain't popular(even less so than Trump at this point in his Presidency), and he's even pissing off key demographics of his own base, with the whole Israel/Palestine thing. I'd worry about a third party spoiler on the Dems side.

80M peoole voted for him in 2020. More than voted for him in 2016.

Cope harder.

We’ll get a better idea of turnout in later primaries for sure. Iowa being a caucus in bad weather also lowered turnout.

And Biden is definitely beatable. I’m just saying Trump’s the one guy that can turn out enough opposition votes to lose.

My sense of how it will go down is, if Trump catches any felony convictions between now and November, he’s toast. If he manages to avoid having to face any decisions in those cases before the election, it’s a toss up (not sure who I’d favor until we get much closer). If he is tried and found not guilty on all counts in one or more cases, he will be seen as vindicated and will win a second term.

Of course that all depends on Biden remaining the dem nominee. If THAT changes, everything changes.

Cruz won Iowa in 2016 and Trump said Cruz cheated.

Biden's term was pretty much exactly what everyone who voted for him expected it would be. Lol at "Honeymoon phase". There wasn't one. Biden has been in politics for 400 years. No one who came out for him was swept off their feet by some never seen before Biden charm that was going to wear off. He was an old establishment democrat with reliable tendencies.

Out of the Trump and Biden effect it was made very clear which drove out more opposition voters last time when Biden got the most votes ever cast.

74M voted for Trump, actually (81M for Biden). And he lost all the battleground states, plus AZ and GA (GA!). His endorsements killed candidates in the mid-terms.

But he can win this time, no doubt. We’ll see. Whatever happens, my toes are still tappin.

Lulz. Nikki Haley, who is as white as an Aryan Indian and has a white-sounding name is viewed as a POC by the American public. When I first saw her when she was the US ambassador to the UN, I had no idea that her real name was Nimarata Nikki Randhawa nor that she was Indian.

Lol, he has a completely unhinged take, just like Joy Reid. If any of that were true, why are the blacks in Chicago and NYC coming out to protest these things? Those aren't Evangelical whites. That is why Biden is the worst rated president ever, and these people coming out for Trump in historic shifts in the electorate.

When Trump loses in November by massive margins, it will be interesting to see what his lunatic base does or says to rationalize it...he's gonna get wrecked by the independent vote.
