Seems pretty damn obvious. For the short term, the obvious benefit is that they stop getting blown up, unless you literally don't care at all about poor people getting killed by the hundreds of thousands. The long term benefit is the US invests in the mining costs that they wouldn't have been able to afford and shares the proceeds with them, which would help cover the massive rebuilding costs that they also would never be able to afford otherwise, and keeps Americans on the ground which comes with the US protecting their interests there.They didn't have a nuke or Iron dome and managed to stave off a much larger Russian military for 3 years.
You've yet to give ANY reason Ukraine should sign this minerals deal.
The benefits are more for the people than for Zelensky himself, which is why he doesn't want it, and on the financial end, he really doesn't want anything with American comanies keeping records where he can't just lose a billion here and a billion there to launder and pass around.
