Stop quoting me if you don't have anything to say. Out of touch how? Trump wants the war over and we don't want to be part of it. We get nothing good out of of putting foreign troops on the ground in Ukraine other than death and increased hostility.
What exactly is your problem with those statements?
1. What is your desired end state with Russia and Ukraine look like?
2. Is that end state achievable?
3. What should America (or Europe) be willing to do to achieve this end state?
Had America answered these questions BEFORE getting into Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq we might have mitigated some of these disasters.
For all of you Ukraine "supporters":
1. What have you done PERSONALLY to assist Ukraine?
2. Rough cost appears to be about $1000 per American in aid so far. What if it turns into $5000? Freedom and Muh Democracy is only supposed to cost a buck o five. Seriously though, how much OF YOUR MONEY money do you want hand the most corrupt country in Europe? Do you expect any return?
3. What is the acceptable casualty rate for Ukraine before they should surrender? Be specific.
4. How much skin do you have in the game? How much are you willing to put in? Strongly worded posts on the internet or are you signing up with the Ukrainian Foreign fighters?
I support negotiating for our ally instead of advocating for our enemy.
Trump's administration literally freezed Ukraine out of peace negotiations at the beginning, and then turns around and says "You don't want peace" to Zelensky when he visits.
How fucking ridiculous is that. Trump is actively advocating for Putin's side and if you can't see that, you're completely not objective.

Total allocation is around 115 billion USD so far. If you (for some inexplicable reason) divide that by population you get around 300 USD-ish, since 2022. Maybe a teensy bit more if you count from 2014.
But that's allocation. I'm not an expert in these matters, but I would still assume that "allocated" is in no way whatsover the same as actually paid out. For all you know, what the war has actually cost the U.S could be a fraction of the 115 billion, and a lot of it is in the form of outdated military materiel that would only have been sent to the scrap heap otherwise, or at best donated as hand-me-downs to some other nation.
As for the funds actually paid out, a lot of that goes back into western economies in the form of arms deals et cetera.
In short, there is a reason you're not feeling any economic effects of this war in any way.
He's had talks with Zelensky without Putin involved too.
I get that this is unpopular and people like to pretend its not so, but Russia has the power and Ukraine is going to have to concede. You know it. They've seized territory. They have the stronger military. They have the support of China., as well as surrounding territories like Belarus. There's not much of a threat Ukraine can make, they don't have the power or the people. Its fun to go on social media and say you stand with Ukraine and express your distaste for Trump with other like minded folks, but it'll get real very fast when someone you know has to go there and fight and dies. When soldiers are being shipped to Ukraine by NATO, this war will stop being so glamorous with a quickness. Photo ops with Zelensky in his khakis and turtleneck will only garner so much support.

You are skipping the part about actual weapons and munitions. I'm not talking about just USD.
Those weapons, patriot missiles, Bradley's, etc. Are going to be repurchased from weapon manufacturers and Mr and Mrs Smith will be paying. The bullshit about "old stock" was complete bullshit. We don't have "old stock" of fucking operational Patriot missiles, javelin, etc. All that shit...we bought it TWICE.
Don't think even for a minute that Wiki page is anything close to our commitment this far.
And while you admit to not being an expert, as evidenced by statements completely discounting the cost to US citizens, I am an expert. I won't give away too much, but if you remember those secret documents that got leaked a couple years ago showing SOF on ground, the status of equipment, and operational readiness readiness of Ukraine's forces? Some of those documents were generated in my office.
Currently, it's roughly 300BN. That is the cost to US taxpayers. You can try to play a shellgame with the numbers and maybe will never know the exact number since the DOD hasn't passed an audit in 7 years.
But I really appreciate cherrypicking ONE point out of my exercise/post. Yeah... we aren't feeling the effects of this war at all. LOL.

Military materiel is largely donated via Presidential Drawdown Authority, from Department of Defense stockpiles. So far, this appears to total around 31.7 billion dollars. A small exerpt from one of the links:
Because PDA uses equipment already on hand, it may allow for faster delivery of capabilities to Ukraine than USAI (which involves the procurement of new items), although the pace depends on availability inU.S. stocks.
So much of the materiel is drawn from existing stocks via PDA, and the rest via USAI procurement or other methods. USAI also led by the Department of Defense. A lot of USAI aid is in the form of training, cyber defense, communication et cetera. In other words, know-how. The PDA part is mostly estimated value of the hardware lent to Ukraine (see excerpt below: )
Section 506(a)(1) does not specify how to assess “aggregate value,” making multiple approaches possible. These include a net book value method (based on an item’s purchase price and expected useful life), a fairvalue method (based on the procurement cost of an item in similar condition), or a replacement costmethod (based on the procurement cost of a new version of the item). Partly as a result of this ambiguity,DOD overvalued FY2022 and FY2023 PDA transfers by approximately $8.3 billion.

I'm sure this could all be fixed with a discreet phone call out of the public eye. Trump would never demand a dress-down in Madison Square garden with Zelensky on his hands and knees and wearing a clown nose.
It does if its a US interest in the middle of their country. We're not putting boots on the ground. Its the best they'll get from us.
We'll negotiate the deal, protect our mutual interests and Europe can supplement whatever else they need.
