Would current Jones beat the winner of tonight's main event?

Jones hasn't fought at LHW in nearly 4 years, and he wasn't able to take down either Reyes or 1 leg Thiago in his last 2 there; fights he could have easily lost.

That people like you are thinking he is the same guy that fought Glover 10 years ago is laughable.

He's a slow plodding HW now that would die making the weight on top of looking past it for a while now.

His favourable matchup and one takedown of Gane exposing his white belt grappling that had already been on display prior does not make him the same Jones of 10 years ago. Not to mention the major surgery he'd be coming off now.

you know, i didn't even take this into account. this is a good point. is Jones even as good as he was 5 yrs ago when he was doing lackluster fights vs Anthony Smith and Santos? the Gane fight didn't really tell us much about Jon, it told us a whole lot about Gane though.

Dude barely gets by Reyes and Santos with destroyed knees and you think he's ready for Jiri?

jones hardly took any damage in those fights. he was losing rounds not because of damage, but because the other guy was just more active. Jiri was was flash KO'd by Reyes but regained composure after he landed

To say Jiri would have only won round against Glover means you don’t know how to judge mma. That fight was 2-2 going into the fifth and then Jiri won.

2 of the 3 actual judges had Glover up by going into the 5th. 1 had Glover up by 2 points and the other by 1.

Jiri also ended up beating Reyes much more convincingly than Jon did though

Jones will never fight either of them. Instead of fighting the interim HW champion to unify the titles, Jon will face a 49 year old Stipe coming off a long layoff and a demoralizing knockout loss.
Jones is at the tail end of his career and has spent more time in the cage than Stipe. There is always going to be someone younger and more talented.

Jon would lead up elbow Jiri on Jiri’s way in, because Jiri tries to cut the distance literally head first.
Jiri switching his attack up is actually how he got the Reyes KO.
Jiri couldn’t blitz forward because him and Reyes were too close to the cage so instead he stepped to his side and saw the opening for the spinning elbow

Jiri has a chance cuz he’s wild. Alex would get mauled, dude got outgrappled by Izzy.

Will he fight the winner of Pavlovich vs Aspinal after their potentially 14th or 15th defense of the interim strap after?

Jiri is active as fuck so that just adds to the argument that he would beat current Jones.

Jiri was was flash KO'd by Reyes but regained composure after he landed

Uh, no, he got rocked for a second and then took Reyes down. Doesn't really have any bearing on a fight with Jones, who isn't known for his power.

fighting them is a waste of time
only idiots would do that
im not talking to you obviously

Jones vs Aspinall is a goddamned great fight on paper.
a high speed chess match in the largest weight class in the UFC

i feel like current jones goes back to his wresting roots and would beat both guys on the ground.
