Most of these people would otherwise be clowning Ariel and calling him a crybaby weasel, but now, he’s suddenly a dignified, trustworthy, stalwart journalist with the utmost integrity. the last sentence of that clip shows Ariel is just making shit up. In 2020 there was no realistic fight between Jon and Francis at that time. Francis was not champion at that time so it makes absolutely zero sense for everyone involved.

If there was any real possibility of Jon moving up to fight at HW at that time it obviously would have been against the champ, Miocic. Same for Francis. Why would he want to fight Jon instead of the title shot against Miocic?

It also doesn't make any sense from the UFC prospective. Ariel expects us to believe UFC was really trying to throw huge money at Jon to create a non title fight PPV main event? No, that doesn't happen.

Ariel isn't someone that's trying to please Tom or anything. He's more like forcing the truth to come out about that fight, on why it didn't happen. By throwing those "JJ was offered that", he kinda forces some clarification on the issue. Ariel himself talking with Chael said "it's weird because I don't think JJ has ever turned that fight down.
