Giving Islam retroactive credit for wins that are many years old at this point is also dogshit.

It’s not about the drug, it’s about the surgery excuse. Admit that you took for performance enhancing purposes, but it might have worked or not, but don’t come out with some idiotic nonsense like having a heart surgery and taking a a drug for prolonged periods because of that. And before that you took it like vitamins in the russian sambo national team. It’s the lying, not necessarily the ped use itself.

That was his schedule. There were no better opponents.

If they pull out or aren't ready due to a recent KO (Justian), it's not his fault.
 
For the majority of his critics there is literally nothing he can do, they will always have some sort of complaint regardless of how nonsensical it is. These people don’t actually care about what Islam does, they just don’t like him and want him gone. It’s as simple as that.

It's more the:

- Handpicked short notice post surgery Volk he'd already once trained for and fought instead of Gamrot who was the existing official backup that was also offered
- Making everybody fight at UFC 300 because he was instead sitting out so he could magically afterwards say he was ready to fight now for a card in 6 weeks where only Poirier was available. Which was still a quick turnaround for Poirier to have to make too as he'd fought 3 weeks before
- He made Arman wait 9 months for zero reasons and the fight would've happened without that delay, but now instead of re-booking it or his real defence ASAP after a quick 3 minute fight with Moicano we've got no line of sight on what the hell he's doing except saying he won't fight Ilia (who moved up after being promised a shot) and will move up to WW if Jack wins (bum he can beat)

You're beyond help if you can't see the dude does everything in his power to only fight once he's stacked the odds in his favour. That's why people criticize him. About the only thing praise worthy is that if his opponents pulls out he doesn't as well so we still get some fight.

(because he's the only already prepared for a title fight and they're not)

He fought twice in 2023 but since then, it’s once a year and now he’s sitting out for the year to wait for the WW title fight. He should be fighting every 4-5 months right now. If he did, it would be huge for his career.
 
Only Conor glazers are ilia fans and Islam haters specifically because he’s much like Khabib.

Nah, ilia is awesome and Islam is much more exciting than Khabib. They may come from the same place and be teammates but they’re not the same fighter. Islam is a much better striker and is a fun watch.

Ilia vs Islam would be fireworks. I’d love to see Islam right Ilia and Arman before going up with a quick turnaround.
 
Just keep fighting. Reverse Khabib. He's already beaten better competition. I'm not a fan myself but can't deny the guys talent.

Islam is more exciting cause Khabib was more dominant. Khabib was the better fighter but Islam will have the better legacy.

Islam has a lower average fight length than Khabib while having more fights and more 5 round fights lol. Both which should weigh against him, but don't because he consistently finishes and quickly too unlike Khabib.

He's the more dominant fighter and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
 
Would be nice to see him beat some top ranked 155ers who are in their prime.
Ilia would only be fun since he starched 2/3 of the FW GOATs; but Ilia’s not the only option.

Can't hate on him personally for taking an easier fight for more money but as a fighter I sure can. Both Charles and Arman were way way more deserving of it.
Before the fight everyone knew that was a bullshit title shot but because Islam struggled so much people seem to forget that. Also people rightfully love Poirier so people end up forgetting it...

Arman pulling out doesn't negate that Islam chose to not fight the number 1 contender. The number 1 contender was Arman, n2 was Oliveira and 3 JG. Also JG wasn't the n1 contender before UFC 300 he was number 2. There was also Max in the mix but that would clearly be undeserving also.

It's not like he is ducking but also lets not pretend that he didn't accept a clearly undeserving challenger. This was not a case were there was 3 or 4 guys with cases for it, Poirier didn't have one it was just " makes more money" there was no real merit to it.
