International Vance, Zelensky, Trump argue in front of press

You're probably aware that a NATO member like Norway can't really just go to war in Ukraine without making sure it's cool with other NATO members right?
Well obviously NATO isn't going to put boots on the ground after we've already seen 3 years of war, right? The fuck do you want? Ukraine to slowly get chipped away and dominated?

And the problem is that the current administration was voted in by clueless people like him.
We view you as cucks who are worthless allies. You are so weak you will never be able to benefit us in a time of crisis.

I've been very clear in this thread that I want Ukraine to continue to do what they want to do as a country that's under invasion.

Guy's an actor so he can adjust. i don't understand why he had the suka blyat outburst though. any adult can control shit like this, even under pressure. how many meetings have you been to where you wanted to call people fucking idiots but held back?
From the interview it seems like he is eager for a peace deal. I hope it gets back on track

I haven't read this whole thread. I support Ukraine's independence but I see no way for them to WIN without major changes happening. We've had 3 years and nothing major has happened. Do you think there will be some sort of catalyst that drives NATO into a war with Russia or will Russia keep chipping away? Shit or get off the pot.

Right, so you instantly backtrack on your initial assertion. The “fuck” we want is to keep supplying Ukraine with military equipment, medical supplies and funds so that they can continue to fight. It’s absolutely bullshit to say they cannot win. The Soviet Union got its ass handed to it in Afghanistan. The US got fucked up in Vietnam. There us absolutely no reason to assume Ukraine- properly supported- cannot beat back Russia.

So after watching 3 years so far, you still hold onto a pipe dream?

Not a bad assessment. Trump did well throughout I thought even with Zelensky correcting him a bit. You are right that there should have been just a calming over JD and Zelenskys short back and forth. Then talk more privately if needed. You are also right. Zelensky shouldn't have entertained any of that either. If it was planned to what end? Europe doesnt have the weapons we have that I'm aware to continue feeding this.

I don't think it was necessarily planned, I think Zelensky is just tired, irritated, obviously frustrated at the lack of cards he has to play with, and he's being pulled from many directions in his own country as well. He's no dictator, if the military wanted to, they could depose him in an instant and replace him with someone that they think will do a better job.

His English skills also aren't flawless which makes his statements come off as more blunt than probably intended. He's not equipped to be in a war of words with two guys talking over him.

If I were him, I'd redo the whole thing. Show up in a suit if that's so important, look fresh and in good spirits, and sign the deal that's probably going to be ignored by the next Democrat president anyway. What Trump could do as a concession, is not to necessarily commit any boots on the ground, but promise to ramp up the military aid to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia if the agreement is broken.

I think Russia will keep chipping away but if Ukraine want to defend themselves against that then let them.

Agreed. It seems that the interview I just watched indicates that he want to redo the meeting and get it done. I think he likes the mineral ties and sharing money and resources. Hopefully he speaks with Trump again before departing.

I don't believe Russia will stop without some type of deal in place. I also don't think Ukraine can go on forever in this war which is why zelensky seems eager to go ahead and get a deal done.

My dad said Zelensky was on Bret Baier and seemed more reasonable about admitting some missteps.

I did see he was on Bret Baier, but haven’t had time to see it yet, tho I plan to. However, the comments I have seen about we the opposite take. Will be interesting to see since I feel trump is going to take a hardline now that it is this deal or nothing, especially since Europe is showing so much support for Zelensky, well they can have him, will be Trump’s thoughts.

I just rewatched the last 15 minutes of the sit down press conference, it’s crazy. Trump and Vance answered a number of press questions, I think great answers. Trump says they will take one more, which he and Vance both answered. Was about to end, then Zelensky literally interjects himself to talk down to Vance, while saying basically like the foreign diplomacy has been bad since 2014 - 2022 was basically nothing, and the only successful deplomacy with Ukraine happened 2022 and after, which is Biden being weak, throwing money at a stalemate with no actual diplomacy.

Implying that from 2016 - 2020 (when Trump did the things I mentioned, and Russia didn’t do shit). Then just keeps egging it on. Crazy

Yeah, lol at having the highest living standard in the world, beautiful women, clean nature, well-functioning government and the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund. Woe is us.
I always wanted to visit Norway and some of the neighboring Scandinavian countries. Seems like a lot of beauty there.
