Umar gets fast-tracked to title shot?

I mean beating 1 ranked opponent to get to a title shot is the definition of being fast-tracked.

He certainly has the skills to beat anyone though so I'm excited to see his career play out.

same thing happened to islam. he calls out michael chandler on a live broadcast. chandler ducks. then islam become champ and suddenly chandler is game for a title fight.
Chandler ducking Islam live on TV was hilarious. “Slick little call out right there”

Dude was like 14th and had no top 15 wins at all and was calling everyone at the top cowards because they didn't want to drop everything to face him. That's not ducking that's called being entitled.

Umar somehow went from 14th to 10th without even fighting before he faced that regional can, and was put head of Mario Bautista, who had better wins until this last card. Mario even beat Kelleher quicker than Umar did.

Mario should get on twitter and demand a title shot or to fight the #1 ranked guy next.
Well if number 13-6 won't take a fight with you what are you to do?

Umar just beat one of the best in the division. If Sandhagen had won, he’d be fighting for the belt next. Umar should get the next title shot; anything else doesn't make sense. I like the idea of Yan vs. Fig for the number one contender spot.

I'd watch a fight against Yan. But a title shot wouldn't be illogical at this point. After all, Sandhagen was considered #2 and beating him opens a clear path to the title.

I just want his title fight to be held outside of fight island in a place with an athletic commission. Not long ago his 17-0 brother accidentally ingested PEDs, so gotta be good to be prepared for such accidents with Umar, too.

O’malley didn’t deserve a number 1 contenders fight with zero ranked wins, umar didn’t deserve a number 1 contenders fight with zero ranked wins. What is it with bantamweight and ludicrous title eliminators? Why do they force them on us?

Who said they wouldn't? Or that they were even offered? Dana? lol. Dama says that sort of shit all the time haha.
Well it just seems evident that they moved him up faster for a reason.

They offered him a fight against number 2 for a reason, he won aswell. So that kind of supports the idea that no one would want to fight him.

#10 beats #2

I think this opens the door for bringing him into title fight conversations.

That simple

Yup. I mean his last name is Nurmagomedov.

I think he should fight another guy to "protect" his rank.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Umar would be a good fight, but I can see why the UFC would just make Umar the #1 contender instead.

Unless he starts endorsing trump on the mic, I highly doubt it.

I'm in favor of giving guys who are undefeated and never had a title shot over veterans who lost the title or title shots.

With a decision win over Cory Sandhagen (#2), Umar Nurmagonedov is eyeing the next title shot.
If the UFC granted this, he would be be skipping past: Petr Yan, Marlon Vera, Henry Cejudo, Deiveson Fegueiredo, Song Yadong, Jose Aldo, Rob Font, and the loser of O'Malley-Dvalishvili.

Petr Yan is also eyeing a title shot although it may be less obvious of a choice for fans. He's lost 3 of his last 4 fights and he's already lost to both Merab and Sean. But, he did beat Cory Sandhagen a 5 fights ago, and many think he beat O'Malley despite the judges' decision. He's also won the belt x2.

Umar just won a decision against the #2, but was still only #10 himself and arguably lost at least a round among a few close rounds. He's also still undefeated in 18 pro fights.

So, What do you think of a Petr Yan vs Umar Nurmagomedov next? Either as title elimininator or winner fights the loser of Sept.15 title fight.

How likely is it that Umar goes directly to a title shot for his next fight? Does Umar deserve a title shot next after just 1 top 10 win?

Can you post the UFC’s policy on who should officially get title shots? Because you may be getting upset about nothing, depending on what the policy states.

I'm not upset about it. I'm just posing the question. Just wondering what people are thinking. Title shot next or another win first. That's it. It's not very often I see a guy climb to the top that fast. From #14 to #11 to #2 to potential title shot with 2 out of 3 being decisions. I don't know if I've seen anyone climb that fast.
Edit: Had to look up Anderson Silva's climb and sure enough he got a title shot after 1 win. Although her murdered Chris Leben in his debut.

Is this Sean O'Malley secret account? You scared of the current line-up, homie??!!

Nah, Sean has no problem taking on the tough match ups, he's already taking on the hardest guy in Merab. Umar will be no problem.

Umar should fight one more time. Make Yan vs Umar
