The BW division seems to be getting a bit stale now after the last few years of it being on fire. O'Malley should consider moving up to 145. I really have no interest in watching him rematch Yan or Merab, and Umar doesn't interest me at all. I wouldn't mind seeing Figgy vs O'Malley, but that will probably end up being a close fight with the judges favoring O'Malley. Maybe Cejudo or Cody, but they're both far from being title contenders.

I respect his desire to avenge that loss. But think he needs to run the gauntlet... or at least beat an elite contender first.

Being active and winning fights got him is title shot. He should be active and not wait around for the better part of a year when he really ought to be 100% healed up.

O'Malley was neither a longtime, dominant champ nor did he lose a very close fight or via controversy...therefore, there is no good reason for an immediate title shot, IMHO (at least, not from a merit perspective).

Plenty of options for O'Malley...Sandhagen, Yan, or Yadong are all viable...but of course the UFC will have its own self-serving ideas, which could very well be the title shot Sean wants.

So Sean is skipping even getting 1 win then sitting on the sidelines like most rank squatters now? I miss when you lost your belt you needed a few wins and look reinvented to earn another title shot. Plenty of top 10 guys at BW that Sean has never fought.

his entire career has been bolstered buy UFC favoritism, he might be the biggest example in UFC history besides Conor.

For O'Malley, at least they set him up against Yan before giving him a title shot. I mean, he clearly lost and the judges bailed him out and rewarded him for making it the full length of the fight, which is bullshit ... but again at least they matched him up against a top contender before giving him a title shot, which is rare these days.
