Tom Aspinall’s best career win.

I’d like to see Aspinall fight
Gane
Almeida
Lewis

Since he already beat most of the current top HW division. Sure he can fight Volkov again or whoever again but these fighters he has not faced and bring different skill sets that I would like to see.

Because Jones actually beat better fighter than bum Asp, but every his hater think he was "obligated" to fight this gatekeeper...

Jones would annihilate Asp. Yes, he ducked him, but he also ducked Sonnen once and... you saw the fight? He ducked Hendo and you really think Hendo would beat him at the time? <smelltheroses>
So Jones beat one guy, who was never even the champion, and he doesn't have to fight anyone else? Why not just retire then or vacate the title? Let's not play games here.

Jon Jones never ducked Chael Sonnen....not fighting someone on short notice isn't ducking someone.

Your examples aren't analogues - Chael and Hendo were not even the #1 contenders. Tom Aspinall was literally the interm champ with a title defense - Jones only fought one guy in the division, there wasn't anyone else "better" than Tom to fight yet he still refused to fight him.

Jones ducking Tom doesn't mean he'd beat his ass, that is really backward logic. If a fighter is very confident they would win a fight they accept them. If they do not accept them, that means they do not know they can win. If Jon Jones knew was 100% confident he could beat Tom, he would have just done it instead of laying around with people calling him a duck every day - he obviously thinks much higher of Tom than you do.

That is how combat sports works. The main exception to that is when the fiscal benefit outweights everything, ie someone like Renato fighting Islam because it's just a better fiscal opportunity.

STFU you can't even beat a puppy or a canadian native... lol
I would make a field day with ya.....then i would post it on sherdogs, Argentinians are the worst, you guys are only good at playing with the balls.....

@SalvadorAllende Is the greatest keyboard warrior i've ever known....i would smash ya onto the concrete under 1 rounds, i wouldnt even sweat at it, easy opponent, you big nose leo messie look-alike.

Because he knows he would lose
It’s deeper than that.

Even Poirier said he only wants legends. Not up and comers.

And this is a common theme with fighters in retirement age.

From the perspective of a fighter in the twilight of their career, they’re thinking of what am I truly gaining from this?

More than just the difficulty of opponent, it’s about someone who checks all the boxes.

Money, motivation, legacy, etc.

A fighter in their prime is more likely to take on all comers, but at that age, these are all questions going through their minds.

This has been the case all throughout combat sports history even going back to boxing, not something exclusive to jones.

UFC HW division is a catastrophic joke right now. Even discussing it with a serious face here is an embarrassing waste of time.

Look what happened when they started testing. Blew up their own sport. Over the last 10 years LHW & HW nose dive. Most dudes don’t walk around like.

With the removal of USADA it’ll be interesting watching those divisions (hopefully) come back

The corporation should be pumping them all with juice

Regards your last 2 paragraphs, when you also throw in that the UFC would pay him more than he's ever been paid in the UFC by a long way and likely more than anyone has been paid in MMA, it's the clearest case of ducking in UFC history

And it's not just that. It's not any one thing. It's how he handled the whole situation.

Said Stipe was it, but then changed his mind. Wanted Alex because it was an easier fight and he had more name value than Aspinall. Then Alex loses. Jones then comically tries to sell nonstop (as do some low IQ muppets here like that mind mine or whatever guy) that "nobody cares about Aspinall, he's a nobody, blah blah blah". To the point where he was getting up and walking out on interviews because he was tired of answering questions about Tom.

Newsflash to Jones and his sycophants: If you're exhausted and frustrated with being bombarded with questions about why you're ducking a guy, that means people actually DO care about that guy and want to see that fight. It's just pure fantasy that it wasn't the biggest fight that could be made in MMA. ESPN First Take did 15+ minutes talking about it when Jones announced his retirement. Showing Aspinall highlights, talking about Jones ducking Tom. This isn't Bloody Elbow, its f'ing Stephen A Smith on the most watched sports network in the world. People pretending like it was "just another fight" for Jones are straight up delusional.

Tom Aspinall is the UNDISPUTED champion (which Jon was not post 11 November 2023)

Tom is the first and probably last man to win the HW belt via Retirement (Terror).

The only times Jon will be mentioned in the future are discussion about the high and low points of the 2010s in the sport, and the greatest wastes of talent/ducks in the sport's history.

You're in the running for biggest retard on this forum. You're probably not #1, so I guess you should feel good that there are some REALLY dumb motherfuckers here that outdo you.

Aspinall/Jones became the biggest fight that could be made. Jones ducking helped it build momentum. It's a FACT that the most famous sports talking head on earth (along with his colleagues) did an entire segment when Jones retired about him ducking Aspinall. They were showing highlights of BOTH guys. And flat stating that Jones retired rather than take the biggest payday by far of his career for a fight that would've been huge.

None of your idiotic opinions change this. Massive media outlets were all talking about it. Everyone knew it was THE fight to make. You'll live in denial about it, that's your right. But that's EXACTLY what it is: denial.
