Times over the last couple years when the champ blatantly ducked the #1 contender?

I have 150 posters on my Ignore list, does that count? Yes, I actually counted the other day and yes, it's exactly 150.

Then again, the only thing those people were ever contenders for was world's biggest idiot. It is really "ducking" for me to not want to have them in my life?

The word "duck" BTW has been used so much it's officially become meaningless, just like so many other words these days. I can't wait for the inevitable wave of threads accusing champs of "ducking" fighters ranked 30th in their divisions
my ignore list keeps growing too, Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing more than half of this forums post. I have 74 people on my ignore list so baby mode compared to you.quick way to do it: Go to your ignoring page, hit CTRL+F, Then type points. That will tell you how many people you have

Dude pulls out one time and loses his ranking? No, that's why according to the rankings Arman is next in line, but Top will give up his title before fighting Arman, according to Top. He is a blatant duck.

That's lame. I was on the hype train a bit but he's too passionate about ducking people who are next in line.
the man hasn't fought in like 16 months, He should certainly have to fight again.

Funny how you note that he got a "lucky split decision" over Charles, but don't say anything like that for the Gamrot loss, which was scored much worse. Also, Gamrot wasn't unranked, he was #12. Damir was also ranked, and "bum" Dariush was off a loss in what was essentially a title eliminator

Feels like bullshit in the air
I think his wins are fine, but they aren't enough to sit out for 17+ months and expect a title shot.

If they were theorehtically booked to fight at Madison square garden in november that would be him getting a title fight after NINETEEN (19) MONTHS of inactivity.

IMO in a division like LW that's simply not justifable. Only multiple time defending champions that vacate a title should get that kind of booking. some one like cejudo or gsp or something gets that booking. if not, May as well call up TJ grant and give him his title shot too.

It worked! Apparently I added one more since I checked last time <lol>

Quality over quantity is always the way to go in every aspect of one's life anyway.

Well I mean Tom was interim champ all that time and he didn't even bother to try and fight Stipe while Jon was on the shelf.

Talk about ducking the #1 contender... :)
Tom tried, but Stipe shut it down and said he would only fight Jones for a paycheck, since Jones couldnt deal any real damage. And ofc Dana also shut it down, knowing Tom would demolish Stipe and then Jones had nowhere more to run…

T'was total sarcasm, sherbro.

And casting the Oliveira win as not great since Topuria destroyed him. Oliveira has only lost to 3 people in the last 7 years. Two world champs and Arman.

Bro, even a split decison win vs an unranked bum like Gamrot would be bad. By unranked i mean not even in the top ranking, we are talking deserving a title shot here. Dariush had just been KO’ed in the first round and lets be honest he was never really great lol. And the other 2 i dont even know their names.

And on top of that you refuse to fight a contender and sit on the side for more then 1 year??Hell its soon gonna be 1,5 years without fighting anyone????Like gtfo Arman, go and fight somebody to get your shot. Sick of these fighters not doing jack sh** for over a year acting like divas. He could have easily had at least 1 fight in all these months and he refused to fight.

So he shouldnt be rewarded for not fighting whats gonna be almost 2 yrs when Topuria is back. Go out, beat someone top ranked in impressive fashion and then cry me a river if you want, till then he should keep his mouth shut…

I think ducking the interim champ is the worst type of ducking you can do. Because it's not even like ducking the #1 contender. The entire reason the interim belt exists is so you'll have a champ vs champ fight when everyone is healthy again.

The only people that I can recall ducking the interim champ are Randy Couture, when he fought Brock instead of interim champ Nog, and Jones ducking Aspinall.

And of those two, Jones is way worse. At least Randy fought a dangerous guy in Brock instead of an old retired washed up fighter. And Randy did eventually fight Nog later too. But Jon wasted almost a year of Tom's prime and then gave up his belt and left the sport rather than fight him.

I have 320

Tito definitely ducked Liddell but in the end got spanked by Couture.

Jon Jones gave the belt away and even quit the sport so he would't have to face Aspinall.
Jones, before that, took his sweet ass time to fight at HW, so he would't have to fight with Ngannou.
This dude is the ultimate Duck

HM to Germaine, who pretty much did the same shit because she wanted no parts of Cyborg

Didn’t Dana already say Arman wasn’t next in line and that making weight as back up was a step in the right direction.

How can you duck someone that has been ruled out.
