Measles is a highly contagious respiratory illness with certain health risks, especially to unvaccinated individuals.
In response to this outbreak, I have directed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) to work closely with the Texas health authorities to provide comprehensive support. HHS’ efforts include offering technical assistance, laboratory support, vaccines, and therapeutic medications as needed.
As healthcare providers, community leaders, and policymakers, we have a shared responsibility to protect public health. This includes ensuring that accurate information about vaccine safety and efficacy is disseminated. We must engage with communities to understand their concerns, provide culturally competent education, and make vaccines readily accessible for all those who want them.
It is also our responsibility to provide up-to-date guidance on available therapeutic medications. While there is no approved antiviral for those who may be infected, CDC has recently updated their recommendation supporting administration of vitamin A under the supervision of a physician for those with mild, moderate, and severe infection. Studies have found that vitamin A can dramatically reduce measles mortality.
Parents play a pivotal role in safeguarding their children’s health. All parents should consult with their healthcare providers to understand their options to get the MMR vaccine. The decision to vaccinate is a personal one. Vaccines not only protect individual children from measles, but also contribute to community immunity, protecting those who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons

If this is truly his position now then it is a departure from his previous (or at least perceived) views. He shouldn't be ambiguous about it and post/pin it to all his office related social media accounts. He should have lambasted FOX News for the spin they put on that interview and be crystal clear on where he stands.
Unfortunately, because of his past comments his words/view are always going to be faced with skepticism, and hopefully he can clear the air on where he stands now.

My hope was he brings some loons back from the edge. But sadly it appears the percieved anti-vax message ( this misinformation about vitamin a ) spreads at 50x the rate than his sane message. Vaccine protects yours and others children ).
As bothsides the anti vaxxers and the anti rfk are amplifying rfk saying vitamin a better than vaccine ( despite never saying that ) oddly defending fox new's dodgey reporting .
Doesnt appear that many will be shifted , and if the vitamin a overdoses are because of " well rfk said " Its directly on fox for amplfying something without the full context like always. But people will believe fox when it suits.

As a percentage of the population, twice as many Americans as Canadians died during the pandemic, and the number of deaths correlates extremely closely with vaccine uptake in every state and every province. We had some weak stock that needed culling. The great white north up Andy way does that naturally. Listen. This entire board has a massive issue with freedom if it's expressed by "political enemies". We seriously need to recognize and value the freedom of choice we are allowed. I fear it's not to last forever.
Freedom of choice doesn't negate repercussions for said choices. You die cuz your beliefs? Your child dies or is kidnapped, excuse me, taken into state custody? You undergo sex change surgery and get life threatening infection? Sorry, you live with the results of your actions.
Appreciate the fact people can make choices so incomprehensible on a personal level all you can do is point laugh and shake your head. Its as if many here, (not singling you out Big A) want nothing more than a world of like minded dunderheads. I don't know about yall, but I get enjoyment out of joking and trolling choices I don't agree with. I sure as hell don't get bent out of shape. I'm not against making informed choices. I'm against under-funding public schools according to property value and allowing private schools to exist.
If this kind of crap weren't literally a matter of life and death, I'd be on team "Point and Laugh". But this is costing children's lives and I can't laugh or be snide or dismissive about that.
Side note, the mRNA tech the Trump admin wants to ban are well on their way to being able to cure some forms of cancer. Opposition to that based purely on ignorance is not something I can point and laugh at either.

Except Measles killed far more kids when there was no vaccine. Adjusted for the population the rate would be something like 50x as much or more (around 30x as many people). That's why the government seized on a miraculous new technology to combat it.
