Elections Trump Admin US Death Count tracker thread

"Its the dirty immigrants"

You're an idiot and xenophobe

You can't find anywhere where I make such claims about the immigrant population as a whole. You're projecting once again... like only a true scumbag would. That's a personal attack out of the blue.

You're full of crap and an embarrassment to this site.

Measles is a disease we can control and eliminate.

I invite you to read this entire study to see what you are missing in your approach here.

Factors associated with measles resurgence in the United States in the post-elimination era

...

Conclusions

Despite the overall reduction in the percentage of imported cases of measles in the US over the past two decades, pockets of internal transmission of the disease following importation via increasing number of outbreaks in unvaccinated subpopulations, reinforced by vaccine hesitancy, account for the increasing incidence rates of the disease in the US. Taking a step further on the current control measures to control indigenous transmission through efficient vaccination coverage in at-risk subpopulations and among international US travellers, improved disease surveillance and rapid outbreaks containment are essential in curbing the resurgence of measles in the US.
Why did you change the topic? Your original case was that rise in anti-vaccine skepticism is causing a growing rise in outbreaks and deaths. There hasn't been an increase since COVID-19 vaccine skepticism or the Trump administration took effect of increase in measle cases. There has been a single measles death in the past decade. Why are you fearmongering over something that is so inconsequential?

How about instead of doomsaying over something that really isn't an issue anymore and is sporadic, you concentrate on things that kids actually are dying of. Things like depression causing suicide, obesity and other chronic illnesses, car crashes, gang activity and related murders, etc. These are things that kids are actually dying of in the tens of thousands each year. You are fearmongering over a disease that has killed 1 person in a decade rather than the things that kill literally >10000x more in the same time frame. My question to you is, if you care about children's health and deaths, why are you concerned about something that is completely and utterly miniscule in comparison?

Even in terms of infectious diseases, the flu kills many more children every year than measles (still a small number in comparison to other factors). Why not concentrate on flu outbreaks? Why measles that kills a tiny fraction?

Sigh.

"Measles can also be deadly. In 2023 alone, an estimated 107,500 people globally died from measles—mostly unvaccinated or under-vaccinated children under 5."

Tell me again how current and future decreases in vaccination rates (because the US president and head of HHS actively discourage getting vaccinated) aren't going to lead to preventable deaths. Go right the fuck ahead.

i did not.

The rise, we are experiencing is happening in certain areas, and it is very trackable and predictable as we have seen the correlating percent of vaccinations in those same areas reduced.

It is absolutely consequential and NOT fearmongering, if you understand how herd immunity works and how once you wait until you have a large amount deaths, the problem will be being addressed far too late.

Measles outbreak in Texas grows to 24 cases; pediatricians urge vaccination

February 11, 2025

...Texas public health officials say a measles outbreak has grown to 24 cases as of Feb. 11. Most of the patients are younger than 18, and all are unvaccinated. Nine patients have been hospitalized...

...Six of the measles cases are among children younger than 4 years, 16 cases are among children ages 5-17 years and two cases are among adults. All are residents of Gaines County, which had a nearly 18% vaccine exemption rate among kindergartners in the 2023-’24 school year, ....

...The outbreak is largely a product of poorer vaccination rates in the South Plains region of Texas,...

He's having some kind of mental health crisis, I think. He's acting really weird and erratic.

Maniac driving down the road almost causes accidents, and as he flies off down the road, one partner turns to the other and says ... " that maniac is going to kill themselves... or worse they may kill someone else'.

If you think that partner who said that is horrible for thinking that way, then you will not agree with me. If you think that is a normal and common sentiment and expression of how they value it then you agree with me and this thread generally.

However i think many people just refuse to think about as they do not want to confront themselves with that type of weighting of values when it comes to life and death.

Many people don’t catastrophize and spend way too much time thinking about things that will drive them to neurosis. You should try it.

Why?

Magats have proven, time and again they not only do not care about the deaths OTHERS suffer due to their actions and choices, ad they celebrate it.

Meaning if the main impact of this was more blue State children dying they would applaud and mock and laugh.

Many blue States, due to population density are typically more vulnerable but since the Red States ARE increasingly rejecting vaccines that we know will bring back diseases and deaths, the ONLY way we see this turned around and fixed, is for the first waves of deaths to hit the Red State magats and their kids.

That, and only that, has the potential for the magats to change course, get the vaccines we know save lives, and to fix this problem before it rises to the level of impacting others.

In our society we ALL typically accept the persons who voluntarily take the unnecessary risks, are the ones who should pay the cost of those actions and NOT the innocent bystanders who may be impacted by their negligent choices.

Dude, it’s fucked up to hope for children to die regardless of which side their parents vote, or don’t vote for or what color their state is. It’s fucked up when libtards cheer this sort of thing and blame trump in a “death counter” that will attribute a bunch of bullshit stats to make him look bad. Likewise, when trumper-tards cheer some child being shot in Chicago gun violence because if the fact they like to cheer gun violence in blue anti gun areas

that is not the issue.

The issue is when presented with such a situation or even a hypothetical can you address or deal with it or do you mentally, purposely or not, duck the issue as you not prepared to be honest with yourself over what some consider a tough moral question.

Many people cannot handle such thoughts and thus try and change the question or otherwise duck doing so.

Glad i don't do that then.

If i had ultimate power no one would die. they would all live.

But if i drive up on the scene of a car wreck where the maniac hit an innocent bystanders car, and i am told one of the occupants of one of the cars died, i will absolutely think it a bigger travesty if the innocent person died.

that is not me wishing the other person died, but instead recognizing they did, are about to, and that it less tragic than the innocent person dying.

Wouldn’t know it by your post because it sounded like you are hoping that deaths occur to make magatards children die

I took a course in Uni called 'Ethics and Philosophy' and the Trolly question was one we all had to answer.

Your answer is not considered wrong, if you answer 'leave the trolly on its course and allow the people on it to die' and it also not wrong if you answered 'divert the trolly and choose to kill the lone person'. the point was making you answer that uncomfortable question in the way YOU assessed it morally.

The only wrong answer would be to say 'i choose to allow everyone to live by not addressing the question as asked'.

That gets a failing grade and exposes that many people will duck tough ethical questions rather than deal with them.

If a person driving like a maniac almost crashes in to you and as they scream off down the road your significant other says 'that lunatic is going to kill themselves... or WORSE they may kill someone innocent', they are saying what i am saying in the OP.

MOst of you would not judge your significant other as wrong making the assessment but many of you would cower rather than say it yourselves... even though most of you agree with it.

Well, philosophy is a fucked up area of study and mostly stupid imo. Stupid made up situations played out like a kids game.

So in your analogy, the maniac driving is akin to a person who didn’t take an experimental medical product known to cause injuries? Not just experimental, but created by companies who have been sued for unethical and illegal practices, and which have been determined by respected independent review to have largely inadequate long term safety data?

I’d say your analogy works better the other way around… the speeding maniac is akin to the one sticking kids with vaccines that are poorly tested and known to cause harm.

According to Cocaine roid rage RFK, vaccinations are bad. So here me out...... fire the doctors! We gotta save money

Some people are like that, yes. And some people have a bad faith premise/framing or a spring loaded hypothetical which eliminates any semblance of neutrality or presumed attempt to test logic.
