Lmao didn’t this can say families of former slave owners should get reparations.

It's hard to keep up with all the racists lately. I need a racist score card. There was a Christian nationalist preacher just the other day, saying slavery was a good thing.
One thing I will give Cankles McBruisey Hands credit for is he has made it easier to identify the racists, because he has emboldened them to come out of their racist closets. IT used to be if you were a racist, you wore a white hood, so nobody will know who you are really, now they make podcasts/Twitter posts, with their name on it show casing their racism
Crazy times, when I watch the GOP downplay or whataboutism Nazi's.

Larry Elder said it, which is one of the reasons he's considered the black face of white supremacy.

Quick question. Do you think the families of Union Soldiers who died should get reparations as well? 360,000 Union Soldiers died in the Civil War. One of my ancestors being one of them. My great great grandfather was killed in the Massacre at Fort Pillow as an officer leading white and black Union soldiers. My great grandfather was two years old at the time.

Have soldiers ever been given reparations?

In the history of the world?

I think it's something that should be considered.

In the history of the world the spoils go to the winners.

The union paid pensions to those that were wounded and to the family’s of soldiers killed.

What's the deal with the trump administration having pastors and priests that are either convicted of rape/child porn or have podcasts where they make bold statements such as these.

This dude is hegseths pastor? Lmao

Hegseth also retweeted some Christian dude who says women shouldn't have the right to vote. Full mask off. No one has any excuse for supporting these people anymore, we're far beyond dog whistles and plausible deniability.

I think that following the end of the civil war, the south should have been burned to the ground and rebuilt.

Any memorial to any soldier that ever fought to preserve slavery should have been destroyed, and such memorials should have been banned in perpetuity.

Any land that had been owned by people who owned people should have been given to the slaves that had been owned there.

All education in the south should have been monitored and filtered by the north.

All state powers in the south should have had stewards in the north.

The southern aristocracy should have been imprisoned and their wealth liquidated. These funds could have been used to make reparations the slain soldiers from the north.

I say all this knowing that slavery existed in the south well into the second world war. Laws and measures were finally put into place to prevent it because Japan was threatening to use that knowledge as propaganda to attack America's global reputation.

To this day conservatives claim that white people fought to free slaves, but fail to concede they also fought to PRESERVE slavery, instead pretending the south was fighting for states' rights.

I thought the left were the ones who hate Jewish people now
ive observed 2 very consistent similarities between the far right and the far left.
1 - they both hate Jews
2 - they both diddle kids
horseshoe theory is nonsense but in my anecdotal experience ive noticed those 2 factors again and again, be they commies or fascists.

I agree with the two things I highlighted.

It's a very complex topic for the time period were discussing. Slavery had been common for millennia at this time. It was a normal thing that people did in many places throughout the world. Unfortunately that's a sad truth through our human history. Even today I think around 10% of North Korea's population is in slavery.

Slavery was abolished in Britain in 1833. In Brazil it was 1888. The Ottomans had slaves through the 1800s. In North Africa and the Middle East slavery wasn't abolished until the 20th century.

It's highly nuanced when it was just a way of life for people at the time. Yes, it's very fucking horrible and humans suck.

My great great grandfather was a Lieutenant for a Cavalry division. I could give a name in a PM if you'd like to look at Civil War Records. At Fort Pillow, the Union soldiers tried to surrender and were all massacred by Confederate Soldiers. It was an event that left my great grandfather without a dad when he was two years old.

But yes, I definitely agree with the two things I highlighted.

I know there's no universe where what I suggested would actually happen. I know that history is ugly and slavery was the norm. I know that England paid their slaveholders reparations.

I envy you for having ancestors who fought for a righteous cause; my grandfathers fought for Hitler and Mussolini.

I have more. Both my grandfathers served in WW2. One was a soldier in the army for 20 years and I think he retired from it. I have pictures of him I think in Papua New Guinea and the Phillipines I would have to look.

The other was in the AirCorp(?) I think. I think it was like the Air Force and Navy combo the US had at the time. Anyway he had this anchor tattoo so I assume he was Navy.

My dad served in the Air Force.

I would have joined military too probably but at that time I heavily disagreed with Bush's war and wasn't about to go fight for their cash grab in the Middle East.
