Scouting Report: Dricus du Plessis

i was wondering about that, if it was obstructed or a bad habit

Yeah, he literally couldn't breathe out of it at all. He was supposed to fix it before Brunson fight but said that was too good an opportunity to miss. I guess it's fixed now..

Wow.
A room full of people talking up DDP.

Cool.

This seems like a perfect place for this...

So, rarely would I give a guy no chance.
It is a fight after all.

But every once in a while there is a fight that I look at and go. Ain't no way that dude wins..

Cody McKenzie vs Chad Mendes
Okami vs Anderson Silva

DDP vs Rob Whittaker.

Why is this fight only -400?

Anyway. Mark my words and come back and tell me how dumb I am if this dude somehow gets it done, cause I just don't see it. I think his gas hits E in late round 2 and he is out of there by 3 or 4 unless Rob coasts to a 50-44 or so. But I think Rob gets a finish, he is due and this is his most favorable matchup since before he was champ.

Edit... durp 3 round fight so maybe Rob gets R3 tko, otherwise probably UD.
That's better for DDP but I still don't see a viable path to victory besides freak injury.

It's a 3 round fight.

Yeah.

That ... makes sense.

Well so much for a round 4 finish.

Probably Rob UD then.
TBH I think we could see a yan/o'malley situation where dricus comes out very strong and takes the first, rob wins the second and the thrid is debatable.

I think it's possible tonight

Normally I like these reports, but this one was awful. For one, it says DDP's jab is nonexistent? WTF? That's like one of the only things he does by the book. He has a very good jab, ask Till or Tavares.

I always enjoy the scouting reports as well, but this one was fucked, almost seemed like Pisarsky has a personal dislike for Dricus or something lol.

If DDP wins, strong round one seems to be a necessity.

I would think Rob and his team are smart enough to know that they can apply a pace that DDP will not be able to match or sustain.

If for some reason Rob makes the extremely dumb move of being tentative and sparring I guess he could leave an opening, but I don't think Rob makes that mistake.

He has done this in the past.

Yeah? How? He can't take them down, he has worse cardio, worse striking. He didn't even beat anybody close to their level and struggled in fights against guys who should retire
What do you think now?

Dricus du Plessis:

Brunson - KO
Till - Submission
Tavares - UD
Giles - KO
Perez - KO

Scouting report: "This guy sucks at everything and is Forrest Gump'ing his way into title contention."

People legitimately hate this guy lol

Just wanted to add to the list

Whittaker - TKO

thanks for this scouting report.

Ouch.

The writer missed a thing or two in his scouting of Du Plessis, as awkward and aesthetically unpleasent the guy might be.

LOL, Sherdog scouting report would have you believe any random guy on Sherdog has more skills than DDP. The most brutal scouting report I've ever read on Sherdog
