Dricus Du Plessis’ Coach Wants to 'Destroy' Khamzat Chimaev in Rematch

DDP’s coach may be competing with Pettit’s coach Duke Roufus as one of the worse mma coaches out there

I mean...

...He knew Khamzat "chain wrestled" & DDP waz pretty much taken down most of the time immediately after teh 1st attempt, so did they not understand this during their 1st fight?

DDP gotta go back to teh proving groundz after that domination.

I think DDP can learn "Chain TDD" but it's not going to happen in one camp.

Whatever, all talk. Lets see him even get past Fluffy. He better take out guys who are trying to get a title shot. I think he should prove his wrestling more, don't care if he fights another striker.

My mama used to say: "It's OK to want."

Anyways...

Rematches are all about making adjustments.

Based on the Fight IQ displayed by DDPs corner, I would expect adjustments such as:

Or

"Use 2 or 3 fingers for the oil check"

Did you not think to train takedown defense the fist time around?

Seeing DDP get caught in so many crucifixes was shocking. That's a wmma move, but they usually finish from that position...
Khamzat getting into the crucifix without trying to finish the fight was a bit mystifying. The only things that make the crucifix difficult to escape are panic from horrific G&P or submission defense taking precedence; without one of those the escape is white belt level stuff, especially if you start with good athleticism. It's almost as though Khamzat knew that DDP wouldn't bother trying to escape.

Well, Jon Jones took underground steroids everytime he had to face elite wrestlers, powerful stuff and most MMA fans doesnt know what it is...

Or he could ask Usman how tf he did it on 9 days notice

What anyone fighting Chimaev has to do is work emphatically on TDD with sprawling. But it is ferocity in determination as well. You need to treat it as if you are in a
knife fight. What you need to do is get quicker guy from the lighter weight divisions, who usually move a lot quicker than MW, LHW etc. to do the takedown and learn
to defend against them. ie Get the fastest training partners you can to train in TDD.

Has any ufc fighter, after losing badly to a much better wrestler, ever had a rematch and won? I can't think of anyone.

I'm not in disagreement. However, get to America, not Russia, and get some time in at, or with, guys from the PSU, Iowa, or Oklahoma RTCs.

DDP has no where to go but up in terms of wrestling defense and general principles.

Take that same energy to his next opponent as there’s no way DDPs getting an immediate rematch

imagine he goes on a losing streak now from overlooking other fighters and never gets the rematch lul
