Schaub/Florian: Zuffa has given non-champs 7 figure bonuses

Apparently you wouldn't. You're happy with the status quo because it's not "your problem". That's why America is so messed up, because people like you just close your eyes and ignore the problems.

Internet activism has played a big part in the growth and shaping of MMA. You even heard it from the UG mods, Dana contacts them on a regular basis. You're probably a paid Zuffa poster yet you deny posting on forums has an effect on what they do? Come on, son.

Cause all I see from people like you is shilling and defending bad business as "just business". I hope the next time you get gouged on insurance premiums or at the doctor's office or at the mechanic, you just chalk it up to "business as usual" and then just take it up the butt. But I know you won't, you just like to tell others to suck it up.

see just more negativity. attacking me and making stupid accusations.

so America is messed up because more people don't complain all day on forums like you

Zuffa sucks. Zuffa should pay their fighters more.

There, I just played a big role with my internet activism. Let me know if you need more help. :icon_chee

Problem though some fighters are happy and some are not. Some are getting 5 star treatment while some don't.

Fighter pay always been tough subject to talk about within fan community. Does it matter how much you guys complain it's up to the fighters to make the change which will never happen.

No. No they couldn't. It is mathematically impossible for 30% of the revenue to also be 7% of the profit.

It would be unusual, but definitely possible both mathematically and in terms of financial performance.

"Revenue" and "Profit" are woolly and meaningless terms without context. Even professional accountants disagree on how to classify certain items and that's why all public income statements include footnotes outlining how they're defining each line item.

Off the top of my head, situations that could contribute to "profit" being higher than "revenue" include:

-Time offsets between receiving cash payment vs. recognizing contracted revenues or costs. Fees or salaries may not be paid/received until the year after they are incurred

-Credits due to restatement of prior year performance

-Tax incentives or extraordinary items due to merger activity, i.e. acquiring Pride, Strikeforce and WEC

-Conflating OpCo vs. HoldCo numbers. Zuffa LLC has revenues, costs and deductions from casino + who knows what else in addition to UFC performance

-Asymmetrical payout: e.g. a Partner may own 20% of a company and allocated 20% of revenues while bearing 20% of costs, but may also own a tiered upside carry structure where they receive higher % of profit when performance is good

Bottom line is the poster you're responding to is correct: %'s don't mean anything w/o actually seeing the numbers and financial statements behind them. The fact that Zuffa is a private partnership means they could have structured the ownership and payouts pretty much anyway they want.

Why bother?
Everyone that doesn't bitch all day about Zuffa is a shill (according to him) lol

he actually thinks his one-sided view actually is important enough to cause anything to change.

I enjoy seeing how differently people think. So I'll just keep poking him so I can laugh more.

Plus, its now an important internet activism campaign. My posts here are important and will cause great change, so I can't stop now.

Well at least you're slightly more open-minded and less callous than that other guy. Keep it up, we'll change the world.

Back on topic.

Zuffa sucks. How can Dana put snow in his whole driveway and Jones can barely afford enough for his nose? Fighters need better pay.

10/10k is bullshit after the fighters have to fly to Thailand to train the stand ups and then pay managers and trainers. How can they even live?

Its all pure bullshit. I know you're reading this Dana!

That's true, some are content with what they are making from the UFC and don't feel the need to risk that or ask for more. That's fine for them but it's not good for the sport overall.

MMA grew so quickly because of the internet. As stated before, stuff we see online is often addressed by Zuffa and the MMA media. Matchups, gripes, ideas, criticisms, etc have all made their way from online forums to the mouths and minds of Rogan, Ariel, even Dana Baldfather himself.

Plus fighters have to buy food, pay for gas & if they take a highway even a possible toll.
Plus the electric & water charges to wash their gym clothes

Dana is Da Devil

What about if they have kids? Then its even worse. UFC needs to provide UFC daycare for all the fighters. They can even hire Burt Watson back and he can truly be the babysitter to the stars.

Sarcasm failed on this one...

The mythical backroom bonuses are real...

Madonaldo got like a 90K check for his fight against Glover...the dude was contracted only for like 8K at the time...rofl...He even wrote about it on his facebook, said the UFC didn't have to do it but he's very appreciative that they did.

How is it not good for the sport, when the fighters ARE the sport. Cherry picking a few that publically say they are or aren

The UFC pays its fighters over 50% of the profits, Lorenzo said so during the ESPN interview.

Even with all that bullshit you just spouted out of your ass, it's still mathematically impossible for 30% of revenue to be 7% of profit.

The absolute lowest percentage of profit that 30% of revenue can be is 30%. And that is if you have absolutely zero costs. Someone just gave your Dad 1 million, and he gave you 300K. You did not even have to spend money on gas to go pick up the check. From there every dollar you spend increases the % of profit that the 30% of revenue represents.

All the drivel you just mentioned either just adds money into the revenue pile the 30% is derived from, or hits as a cost, which works against your argument.

Exactly
Plus don't forget .... err ..... umm ..... OTHER STUFF TOO!!!
