Garry Jonas Rips Turki Alalshikh: He Doesn’t Have a Fucking Clue
By Matthew Brown03/19/2025Follow Brunch Boxing on Twitter/XPhoto Credit: Riyadh Season Don’t count on seeing Garry Jonas holding hands with Turki Alalshikh in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia anytime soon. In an exclusive interview with Raw Sport, the ProBox and Boxing Scene head honcho did not mince words...www.brunchboxing.com
Good read … Garry Jonas the headman of Probox and Boxing scene is not a fan of Turki
which will then put them at a level playing field with all the other promotions. what reason would anyone have to sign with them, when they know how dana runs the UFC, but boxing isn't run by a fucking monopoly? So after watching the Dana White post fight press conference from the lame UFC last weekend, I think I get it the alliance a bit more now.
Looks like Turki & Saudi are kind of done just burning money. In essence the sports washing honeymoon stage is over.
Looks like Turki wants a realistic self sustainable model. So that's why he's farming out the buisness part to White. Dana claims to be running the business part exclusively.
Also seems they want to focus on creating their own talent first & foremost.
Looks like Turki got tired of dealing with the promoters, the orgs, & the fighters all evenly. & that the whimsical bottomless piggy bank days to get fights done will no longer work for him.
Interesting. Don't know if somebody higher up said "no more blank checks" or what.
Interesting.

thats enough to take champions from the tiny weight classes though. that's something.which will then put them at a level playing field with all the other promotions. what reason would anyone have to sign with them, when they know how dana runs the UFC, but boxing isn't run by a fucking monopoly?
there we go.
i'm sure boxing's biggest stars are just lining up to fight for 50k lol.
thankfully, this will fail.
but those guys don't really bring in heavy revenue. i doubt this league will last long if the only top guys they can sign are at 115 and below.thats enough to take champions from the tiny weight classes though. that's something.
Hm...it's hard to really talk about this, at least for me, because I dont actually know what their demographic is.but those guys don't really bring in heavy revenue. i doubt this league will last long if the only top guys they can sign are at 115 and below.
even there, a guy like bam, who has the most star power potential, is already making more money as it is. but if you're looking at someone like the monster, those numbers become laughable compared to what he's currently making.
