The only movies that Snyder made that were any good at all were

Dawn of the Dead (written by someone else)
Watchmen (written by someone else)
300 (written by someone else)

He also managed to completely miss the point of Watchmen.

Man of Steel was ok.
The Snyder cut of Justice League was ridiculously bloated, but ok.

He makes very bad movies when left to his own devices. He should be a cinematographer, not a director. And he's certainly not an auteur.

That's fair. I hope it's good too.

I will agree that Snyder has a good eye for stylish and dramatic shots. He has made quite a few movies that look amazing.

I don't think the haters want him to fail, I think they are disappointed because he did, and usually does. He's just not a good writer or director IMO. He shouldn't have creative control over anything.

But I do hope this one is at least ok.

What did he get wrong? The movie is 90% faithful to the comics, only the ending is different. All the characters with their qualities and flaws are there, he just increased the action a little to make it more marketable. One of the most faithful adaptations to the comics, unlike the MCU that disrespects, changes, and distorts several characters, original Marvel stories and everyone likes it.

They should make a movie about Ackmed from sherdog. He was experiencing anguish and a lot of hate, but through struggle and adversity came out on top. Brawled his way to the Gold Belt!

The casting of Nite Owl and Silk Spectre 2 was completely wrong and ruined the characters. And the ending was the entire point of the graphic novel.

Ozymandias' whole plot was to make the world unite against an external threat.

In the movie he frames Dr. Manhattan? The American icon?

Missed the entire point.

The movie was good, because it was so faithful to an incredible work of art. But it was only good and not great because Zack Snyder didn't actually understand what Watchmen was about.

I actually watched this movie, and I literally forgot about it until just now.
