Elections Republican house: no border deal till trump or republican president

Right wing media isn't going to say this, but nearly half the base in Iowa did vote for someone else, just not all the same someone else, so Trump can still claim "landslide." But the Iowa caucus is supposed to be about tone, and close to half the base in f*ckin IOWA not voting for the anointed one is not a good tone.

Ted Cruz won Iowa in 2016.
Except out of the 49% who voted for "someone else"
8% voted for Vivek aka "Trump but even more memey and brash",
and 21% voted for DeSantis "Trump but younger, more nerdy and less brash."

So 80% of the electorate voted for Trump or an off-brand version of Trump. All the polling indicate DeSantis and Ramaswamy's #2 choice is overwhelmingly Trump.

Trump beat Haley in every demographic besides self described liberals/moderates, and republicans with PHDs. Sorry but those groups do not make a winning coalition in a primary campaign.

She isn't saving us from Trump with her lock on <10% of the Republican electorate.

That would explain his historically low approval ratings. He's just been so damn good...
Clearly what the country needs is @Jack V Savage telling everyone that he's very rich with no IQ to speak of and enough empty time to write 100,000 essays on a karate forum, and that is why we need an oligarchy to appoint our leaders, because voters pay attention to silly things like whether they can keep up with rent and bills, when they should just throw it on a high interest credit card and vote for guys with dementia, because it's a "dictatorship" if the person you get to vote for has any say, and the country should be run by unelected, termless bureaucrats.

Looks like I touched a nerve somewhere. Most voters say that they're doing well, which reflects objective reality (and the actual behavior of people--spending on luxury goods, starting new businesses, spending money on expanding businesses, etc.). A lot have a sense that "the economy" is bad because of the media they consume. Sorry if things are not going well for you, but you can't really blame politics for it, and pretending Biden has dementia (while supporting Trump, who legitimately is unwell) just makes you look like a hack. The dictatorship support is because Republicans supported Trump staying in office even after he lost, with no legal authority according to the Constitution. I know your peabrain can't comprehend thinking in general principles, but just imagine how you'd react if Biden tried to stay in power after losing an election.

I see. What is the average length of time between indictment and trial for federal "conspiracy and fraud" cases? I'll help you out, it's about 2 years. What did Jack Smith request? 5 months lol. At least he didn't blurt out "don't worry, the judge already said he's guilty before the trial takes place" like the dummy in NY who ran her campaign on abusing her office to go after political opponents.

You're the 2nd "vote blue no matter who" democrat in the last hour who's tried to dictate who you'd like as an opponent. At least you're picking an unpopular candidate who's actually running, the other dude said republicans should run effing Mitt Romney.

The republicans ARE running a primary to decide their candidate, while your party said "nope, you get a guy with dementia whose approval is 18 points underwater and that's the end of discussion", and your complaint isn't with your own party not giving you any choice, but that the opposing party is and they aren't choosing the person you'd like as an opponent?
I'm a registered Republican genius. I'm a never TR7MPer that would will vote for Haley in the primary and general if she's the nominee but if it's either TR7MP or DeSantis on the ballot I'll vote Democrat again even if it's for Sleepy Joe.

Yep, everyone's a "hack" and "personal attacks" and blah blah blah if you ever had to get a real job. Everybody on here knows your retarded opinions before you give them, yet you still write 100,000 essays like you're his press secretary.

Great, if the guy with dementia is doing such a great job, his approval should reflect that and reelection should be a slam dunk, and he shouldn't need you on your knees whiping the oligarchy off your chin. So why do you feel the need to continue?

I think Republicans are making it very clear that either they don't actually believe there's an issue at the border or they care more about using the issue for politics than fixing it. I'd love to see an alternate explanation.
This! The political game and who is winning and who is losing and who should get credit is what fuels the decisions of these law makers. The elected Republicans don't want a solution to the boarder problem because they prefer to have it as a wedge issue. They will never, ever enact any meaningful legislation to fix this problem.

Ok, I'm a registered Democrat, genius. I guess I'll have to vote for Trump if voters actually get to decide, and Joe Manch7n isn't appointed the democrat nominee. Derp.

Who the hell are you planning on convincing with this horse shit? Lol, "I'd vote republican if you ran another Bush or Cheney, or someone on the board of Boeing". Damn, what a shame to lose your vote

He didn't play dumb at all. In fact, he practically spelled out that it was a political plotyby the Dems like you were in special ed.

He's just saying, what difference does it make whether it's a ploy or not? If the right is gonna screech about the border non stop, then why is the right turning down border deals for basically an entire year?

If the right cared about border security, they'd make a deal. But they don't.

Why does this concept break your brain?
I do not trust the democratic party to actually fix the border problem.

Where were they as the border problem turned into a crisis?

Now, since Biden has an underwhelming approval rating, it seems to have come up on the democratic radar.

If it's bullshit for the republican side to refuse to help Joe out now, what do you call what the administration has been doing for the past 3 years?

Well, you can tell my positions by looking at objective reality. On the economy, what is even the GOP explanation for why unemployment is so low, GDP growth is so strong, wages are so high, etc. if the economy is bad? How do you guys even define "economy" in such a way that all the data shows that it's really strong but it's actually not?

I didn't know you were such a strong believer in polls. And "the oligarchy"? You sound like a socialist now, except that your whole thing is insisting that we should support upward redistribution because society is unfair to the rich and powerful and the poor and middle class have it too good.

No offense, but if you were a math wiz, you wouldn't be voting for tax cuts for rich people and for people who want to gut social security lmao

Also, if you were indeed a math wiz, you probably wouldn't vote for a guy who committed fraud and inflated/deflated his assets to avoid paying taxes
He wants to fight the power by slavishly defending guys like Musk and Trump against those greedy poors.

Laughing...You can't dispute the fact that we have a record number of illegals crossing the border under Bidens Residency and yes Trump was to soft on the illegals coming over here. The best solution at this point is to deploy the National Guard and close the Border completely for a Temporary time.

It has been posited that the reason for the influx of illegals under Biden's watch was because much of the world and Latin America at least have a passive interest in American news media/politics, and leading up to Biden/Trump election, the major theme from right wing media, which dominates the political media space, was that Biden would/did completely open our borders to anyone. Naturally people are susceptible to hyperbole regardless of where you come from.

So a large portion of people who are desperate to improve their condition all heard from the media, regardless if it's their own media just parroting American sources, that Biden and Democrats wanted open borders, which is quite the exaggeration. Biden/Democrats become elected, and the immigrants decided now was the time to act.

Hell, you can find posts every day here in the WR where people exhibit the same thinking - that Biden pursued an open border policy (or that we have one now), when in reality our borders have never been a free for all come one come all policy. He basically left most of Trump's border policy in place.

What;s comical to me, is all the people upset in this thread about illegal immigrants flooding the marketplace, are simultaneously bitching about "diversity hiring" or affirmative action in another current thread, claiming that DEI is strictly 'equality of outcome' and only the best man for the job should be hired. If that's truly the case, closed borders are just another form of affirmative action guaranteeing that the best man for the job isn't hired, and limiting the talent pool to native born Americans.

Yeah, why even have elections when we can look at "objective reality" and realize that the whole country should enjoy the sweet sweet equality of NYC, LA, San Francisco, DC, Connecticut and Chicago? Damn those voters for not realizing "objective reality".

And when the administration proposed to try to counter false information on this issue (which was having a material impact), people screamed bloody murder, pretending that freedom of speech means no one should be free to say when you're lying.

Yeah, there's no intellectual consistency with these people.

How do you guys even define "economy" in such a way that all the data shows that it's really strong but it's actually not? And if inequality bothers you so much and you're a socialist now, why are you still one of the biggest GOP cheerleaders here? If you're going to support more housing deregulation, I'm with you.

Dont mistake my point for argument of the validity of any other candidates, they're all cretins. Just saying the electorate were not as fully sold on Trump, specifically, as Trumptards wish they were.

If you think I'm full of horse shit then you can just stop responding to my posts.

Were limiting the talent pool to "Legal" Americans and those crossing the borders illegally aren't coming here to be Doctors or Architects because those immigrants come here legally. I'm just glad that for whatever reason we can agree that record numbers of illegal criminals are breaking into our country and crossing the borders on a daily basis are doing so under Bidens watch. It time to Close the borders completely for a temporary basis and deploy the national guard or military to enforce the laws.
