“We were hopeful. I don’t know how optimistic we were, but we thought, OK, this is tied, and if a couple things break our way [we could win],” David Plouffe, a senior adviser to the campaign, said Tuesday on the “Pod Save America” podcast in a joint interview with fellow Harris campaign alums Jen O’Malley Dillon, Quentin Fulks and Stephanie Cutter.

Plouffe said the campaign’s internal polling never had Harris ahead of Trump.
“We didn’t get the breaks we needed on Election Day,” he said. “I think it surprised people, because there was these public polls that came out in late September, early October, showing us with leads that we never saw.”

Not a surprise whatsoever.

Lol I root against the dems / Harris hard, but your premise of polls being fake isn't accurate considering all of them listed their aside from one pollster fell within the MoE. I'm betting if Harris release their internal polls, you'd see most within the MoE.

The results along with aggregate modeling showed polling was pretty spot on

So they kept the *real* polls private, but made sure the public MSM polls had a wide MoE to have the 'Kamala is winning' headlines but as a backup plan to later say 'Well that's why we have a +/- 4% MoE."

Which makes the poll completely useless, most of the time, unless there's such a wide gap that it surpasses the MoE.

The media will usually push polls that over sample Democrats to the front of their headlines. Just look at how they jumped all over the "Harris will win Iowa" nonsense pushed by ONE pollster.

I don't know about all the polls, but that "gold standard" Iowa poll that had Harris up three points there, was definitely bought and paid for. It couldn't have been a bigger outlier that just happened to drop days before the election and had wall to wall media coverage. Oh', and then the pollster conveniently retires after the election, and being off by about 16 points or so. You can't convince me that she didn't get part of that 1.5 billion they wasted.

Trump's internal polling in 2020 had him winning. Internal polls aren't necessarily more accurate than public ones. The polling in 24 was pretty much within the margin of error. One of the funniest parts of your post is where you say Trump's anti trans ads were very effective and your source for this is a public poll...which you are sharing at the end of a post about how public polls are fake.

I've long given up on Presidential polls. Well some polling seems more accurate but overall I don't pay all that much attention to them. They are dishonest I've come to believe.
