I suspect we will see LHW frozen for a few months: Jiri, Ulberg, and Ank will all wait to see what Pereira does.

If Pereira takes a title defense, it could reasonably be against any of those 3 guys. Regardless of personal opinion, all 3 have legitimate title shot claims to varying degrees.

But if Pereira moves to HW and vactes the title, then it gets real interesting. I would predict Ulberg vs Jiri for the vacant title myself.

i dunno lots of fights make sense for ankalev, could do jan 2, could do hill, could do jiri, could do rountree.

I think Hill is way below Ankalaev right now given that he's a recently-dethroned champ and current #1 ranked fighter after Poatan. Jamahal needs a sizeable step down in competition. Rountree is in a slightly better spot, but shouldn't be rewarded by fighting up after just getting finished himself IMO.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Jan rematch if Jan gets past Guskov. Other than that I think Jiri really is a sensible fight and a compelling one at that.

So it absolutely doesnt matter if Jiri lost to Pereira twice. Jiri have much better opponents on record. Ulbergs best win is shortnotice Reyes which have obviously compromised chin…end of story

Btw saying that short notice Reyes#9 is tougher fight than Roundtree is top notch stupidity. - Ulberg is overrated bum, same as Ank. Hate on me now

I dont even want this fight right now, but Jiri can definitely beat him if he finally gets full camp and is healthy. The point of this thread is that Ulberg is not more deserving of title shot than Jiri, which is absolute true. + I absolutely enjoy when these clowns are getting mad. Anyways if Jiri and Pereira want this fight then its right fight to make.

Ank vs Jiri is the fight to make. Both have a score to settle. Ulberg is on 9 fight win streak.

It doesn’t matter if you’re on a winning streak; it always depends on who you beat. Ulberg has potential, but he hasn’t come close to proving it yet. Jiří is the only one who legitimately deserves a title shot based on results, and the two losses to Alex don’t change that. You simply can’t send someone like Ulberg into a title fight when you have someone like Procházka there. It wouldn’t be fair. Pereira has to defend against at least the seemingly best available challenger, even if that means fighting the same guy for the tenth time. If Ulberg wants a title shot, he has to go through the top contenders. Rountree, Ankalaev… maybe even Hill would partially count. But definitely not Jan or Reyes in their current state
