Did Ulberg Fabricate Medical Issues to Duck Jiri?

Alex said he doesn't need to do that he's active
Others had to vacate, that's their stance. Don't think other champs wanted to vacate. Different for Alex? It's October and he's talking about a fight in July. That's 9 months away, there are 12 months in a year...not sure if he would be able to turn around against Jones that fast, think Jones dog walks him bad tbh, that or he catches Jon early are the most likely two outcomes

No, but plenty of shookologists.

I can confirm that Ulberg was shook in the crowd at 320 and was terrified at the prospect of having to fight Jiri. This more or less corroborates Jiri's story.
It seemed to me like Ulberg was trying to get into cage to get face-off with Jiri but UFC staff did not allow him to.

Its almost like when Rakic first ducked fight vs Jiri because he was "focused on title, not fighters below him" and later on was trying everything possible to get that exact same fight which he earlier declined...and got TKO'd.

It very may be "tactical ducking." And if that is the case, well he KO'd his opponent in like 3 mins and now continues his win streak. Now, if this actually benefits him in long run? We'll have to wait and see. If he gets the shot right at Perreira after the Reyes win, then he certainly made the right call. But if for some reason he has to fight again, and most likely vs Jiri well then it will backfire as the Reyes fight would almost be pointless, considering he'll have to fight Jiri anyways.

I watched the Helwani video with Ulberg yesterday, his explanation of why they put off the Jiri fight makes zero sense, but I get that he thought Jiri was dangerous enough to warrant a full camp, versus him taking Reyes earlier.

well he's probably right we all seen how easy he made reyes look

Very Possible that the UFC allows Alex to fight the gane aspinall winner, forcing a vacant or interim LHW title fight involving Jiri and Carlos.

I wouldn't wanna fight Jiri either. He's awkward AF
Very few fighters have much chance of beating Jiri just by fighting their usual fight with maybe some minor adjustments. Jiri pretty clearly has holes in his game, but he's also extremely durable and unorthodox, so it would take some hardcore tape-watching and game-planning to properly take advantage of those holes, and it definitely takes some good corner work or high fight-IQ to make any necessary in-fight adjustments. I'm pretty sure he's more beatable than his non-Poatan UFC fight record would indicate on its surface, but most fighters are very conservative when it comes to adjusting their training and game planning, and that's just not going to cut it against Jiri.

That would be cool!

It's gonna be interesting which way the UFC goes on Perreira going to HW. Jones super fight or a title fight against Aspinal/Gane.

Of course its different. The others aren't active.

Jiri is a FIGHTER, he does not "game plan" or any of that stupid shit, he goes in there and fights strictly by feel and flow, which is exactly how it should be done. All of these "athletes" masquerading as fighters don't get it, and are just fodder for a real warrior such as himself.
