I think Jiri was concussed in the first fight, and about to be brutally finished. I guess we will never know.

Your post makes no logical sense. IF jiri has taken so much heavy damage from the 1st fight he was cooked for the rematch a year later, Marc was ok to stop this fight.
 
what the retard is missing is that he got his wish of letting the fight go on in their second fight: how did that go, letting Pereira finish the job? I’m pointing out that it doesn’t make sense to say that someone was ok to continue the first fight after getting dropped but then justifying they lost the second fight due to being so damaged from the first fight that happened almost a year later.

Bro….Jiri wasnt the only fighter on short notice, Alex Pereira also took the fight on short notice. Im guessing thats why UFC owed O’Malley the rematch with Merab because the lights at the sphere was fucking his vision, or thats whys the UFC owed Cain Velasquez the rematch with Werdum which got cancelled because their first fight Cain was dealing with altitude.

I don’t see how Jiri wins, his style is tailored made for a striker like Pereira. If Pereira moves up then Jiri can get the vacated title vs Ulberg, Jiri deserves the next title shot imo, since Ankalaev is injured he can take the time to heal and fight the winner.
 
Better than some late stoppage where someone gets really hurt unecessary. Out of 100 stoppages but 100 gonna be just right. UFC refs are very good compared globaly. Maybe the best. Margin for error exists. Most important protect fighters then right after that don't ruin chances.
 
Nah, I love Jiri but Poatan is just a nightmare matchup for him, he had two cracks at it and outside of a fluke hail mary, he’s not beating him.
 
If there was no Marc Goddard to stop that fight the headline would've been Jiri Prochazka 1992-2023 the next day. Fuck are we talking about here??
 
That's why we had the rematch. It didn't go much better for him. I like Jiri but he's just too hittable and Alex is not the kind of guy you want hitting you.

For all those quoting me on this, Yes I am aware it was short notice for both of them. I am saying that if it's down to Jiri or someone else vs Poatan, that is an issue in his favor, that he did them a solid, which was the whole point from the beggining.

The rematch only happened, because of Marc Goddards dogshit stoppage. There's been hundreds of fights where fighters were in worse situations and the fight continued.

We will never know what would have happened if the fight continued and Jiri put Pereira on his back and elbowed his face in.

If Jiri continued to take strikes on the ground while in mount then yes stop it, but Marc didn’t wait to see how jiri would respond

Marc Goddard is simply a vagina as a referee. He should referee the woman if he doesn’t want to see people take damage.
