Jiri vs Pereira 1 will never sit right with me.

Why is this far fetched? They fucking let Jiri be ringside and filmed his reaction for Poatan vs Ank.

They know its a fight people will watch, and violence is assured.
It's not far fetched just extremely unlikely. We've already seen Jiri vs Alex twice and he got finished both times. Not to mention Jiri has has had more than his fair share of title shots the past few years. He fought Glover in 2022 for the belt, fought Alex in 2023, fought Alex again in 2024. Jiri getting another one over Ulberg who is on a 9 fight win streak would just be downright unfair similar to how it was unfair for Rountree to get a TS over Ank last year.

This thread is sad reaching. Jiri blocks strikes with his face and shows no technical improvements any fight. He relies on his chin which is a terrible strategy against Poatan who hits too hard. Jiri will never beat Alex
The stoppage was still early, if it was a different ref the fight would have went on longer. Marc not so Goddard sucks. Ruined Colby usman 1 too.

He is down 0-2 by KO, one in 2023, one in 2024
Those numbers dont mean dick. Conor aint won since 1993 and he's still gonna sell ppv's if he can make it to the octagon

There's a point where Poatan was throwing the elbows and Jiri went limp. The subsequent elbows woke him back up.

A lot of peeps were protesting the stoppage but he was definitely out. Hats off to him for acknowledging that in the post fight.

Early stoppage in full mount after getting dropped? Alex has devastating GnP he's finished Hill and Ank with. Sad cope. Alex haters are deranged

Just watched the finish again on mute.
Here's what I saw:

-Alex clipped Jiri behid the ear with a hook and staggered forward alread quite close into a short left

-That left hand caused Jiri to drop to his knees then intitiate a double against the cage

-Pereira followed by 3 Pereira hammer fists as Jiri's TD attempt wasn't in tight

-As Jiri began to cinch in closer, 2 hammer fists became forearms to the side of the head possibly simply due* to his closer proximity.

-As Jiri cinched the double against the cage, we got 5 Travis Browne style elbows at which point you can see both of Jiri's hands completely off (albeit still in close proximity to) Pereira's legs. Both hands appear to be at about Pereira's calf level.

-By the 6th Travis Browne elbow, Jiri is already going backward onto his butt.

-The next 2 aren't landed cleanly as Pereira is just sort of leaning/stepping forward while he lands on top of Jiri.

I counted 16 unanswered shots so I may've missed one pausing and replaying; but Jiri essentially* got dropped twice (or dropped and then beaten onto his back? IDK.) Either way, It was stopped once Pereira landed in the mount position because the entire time that he was taking elbows to the side of the head, he didn't atempt to make any adjustments to intelligently defend himself.

Would spell check and take screen shots but I need to finish lunch and get back to it.

Good Stoppage

So, are you saying Jiri vs Pereira 3 is going to sell like 1 million PPV´s??

No, im saying whatever it's projected to sell, is something the UFC will probably put together. Esp if they dont wanna bother with Jones, and there's no move to HW at the moment.

What about Colby usman 1
Colby was in on a double (from getting knowcked down) when Usman sprawled him face down on the mat while landing shots to the side of Colby's head that caused Colby to release his left and cease to attempt to advance his position or defend himself intelligently.
Colby didn't appear steady/solid/whatever underneath Kamaru until the latter released his weight.

*Also Colby was legitimtalely knocked down twice right before ^ sequence.*

If UFC wanna make the fight, they just gonna make it, so its not really unlikely at ALL.
Are you sure you're understanding what unlikely means? Of course the UFC can make the fight if they really wanted to but what makes it very unlikely is Jiri has had 3 title shots since 2022 and got finished in 2 of those by the current champ. You can only sell Alex vs Jiri so many times, especially when Khalil was beating Jiri for 2 rounds before he got finished and Alex just ran through who was considered to be the best in the division.

If Jiri wants to win he has to come out as aggressive as Alex did against Ank. First minute go for Ko. You can’tsit and pick shots with him. Get in the pocket early throw elbows and get it ugly and if you get KO’d so be it

this

jiri's only chance of winning against pereira is to make it chaotic.

if it's a normal paced or slow, like the 2nd fight, there's like 0% chance jiri wins.
if it goes to a decision after 5 rounds, like a 10% chance.

jiri needs to earn respect from the 1st round, and put pressure on pereira.
pereira is not good on the back-foot, like when ankalaev was pressuring him.

get pereira behind the black lines, learn to check his calf kicks.
always block when in hook range.

pressure pressure pressure with leg teeps to the body

Marc Goddard is an ass ref, he has ruined multiple matchups I was excited for with premature stoppages. Jiri was doing good against Pereira , until he got clipped, but upon rewatching the video multiple times, and after a few years, the stoppage still doesn't sit right with me. Jiri gets clipped in every single fight, it was nothing new for him, and he ended up landing in a relatively safe position, which he has been in dozens of times over his career and recovered. Marc Goddard stopped the fight the second Jiri's back hit the floor without even analyzing the position and situation for Jiri. Marc Goddard is a bad referee and he ruined that fight, and altered the course of history for the LHW division.

And then for the rematch, Jiri had already taken heavy damage in the first fight and I'd assume it played a big factor in Jiri's performance.

Sure I want to see Pereira vs Jiri 3, but that stoppage took a lot out of Jiri and took his career off course, but Jiri went through literal killers row to get back to the 3rd fight and i'm all for it.

Actually, The second fight, where Alex was allowed to pummel Jiri into some kind of living death, really confirmed Goddard did what he was supposed to in the first one. You get clipped by Alex and he goes on at you, you get really hurt, you're not getting away and having a comeback, not on any fight where like that...
Plus, did ts just complain of an early stoppage and then complain Jiri took much damage in that fight? Dude, make up your mind please!

You can sell it three times,It is known.

The KO packages are there.

Why do you hate Jiri so much? I don't want to see Alex KO him again. Just because you enjoy embarrassing yourself and looking dumb doesn't mean Jiri should

i can't see it happening. its just too much of a stylistic nightmare for Jiri. He is just all offense with no defense.

If Alex is staying at LHW, then Jiri should really think about moving down to fight khamzat.
