Like you are one to question if someone is a fan. This fight is not generating the interest that it should be. You know this.

It's a big, exciting fight. But I feel that it's honestly not going to make that big a splash. If DDP wins, that really solidifies his reign, but he's already doing fine. If Kumshot wins, not many will be that surprised, and it was a long time coming. On top of that, there's no real beef or grudge attached, so it's simply generating less hype (to the casuals I guess). I feel like both Conman vs Poiriers were bigger, as well as at least the first Volk/Islam. I could be reading the pulse wrong, but I even felt like there was more hype around Ilia/Volk.

Probably like a 7 or 8. Good fight for people who follow sport pretty closely, but it's not like a 1M+ PPV type fight that people who don't even follow the sport would know about.

It's rare to get two undefeated (in UFC) guys in their prime fighting each other for a title.

They are also relatively young for the top of the division so there shouldn't be any excuses about one of them being past their prime or anything like that.

It's about as good of a title win anyone can get on their resume.

Best of the year so far. Topuria vs Volk same level. Not gonna put any further effort into it. It is a very good match up. Islam vs JDM pretty good too, but rate DDP vs KC bit higher since MW > WW.

I think he was really stupid with Covid and now he's paying for it. I don't know a way to phrase this that isn't unkind to him because no fighter should have their career derailed due to their bosses not caring about their health..

I agree. I hope we are wrong and that it is a massive fight, but it doesn’t look like it at this point.

Some people got wrecked by covid, even without over training during the illness.

He also had some injuries (hand surgery), visa problems.

Good news is that he now seems to have better control of his health/recovery status, so I'm hopeful that he will be active in the coming years.

If Conor vs Khabib or Chuck vs. Tito 1 were 10s then this is probably an 8.5. Up there with izzy vs. alex 1 IN MMA but not the alo time great fights, at least for me.

It's a big fight for sure. It's not a massive fight but it most definitely is one of the most intriguing fights of the year. The reason why it's being so hyped right now is because there are so many questions for this matchup. Nobody has a clue what the outcome will be because it could honestly go either way.

Alex vs Izzy was way way bigger.

Because of DDP this is a 7-8 max. If Khamzat was facing an undeafeated Israel or sth it could be more, but DDP just looks terrible out there and got beaten into a pulp by frking Strickland, so a win for Khamzat wouldnt be something special. Great fight fore sure tho and much better then every other sh** fights we’ve been getting this year.
