Props to Khalil

He won 2 rounds tho?
Really? I haven't scored it yet and will rewatch soon but yeah. Khalil gave a good showcase of himself.

The vibe was just that it was a matter of time. Alex systematically figured him out and broke him down.

Like in sparring when you're going against veteran while you're an agressive talent. Shit will look alright in the beginning but as time goes on....

Like many others I thought this was a waste of time for Alex, that he was taking on an undeserving challenger and would simply get a quick KO before moving onto better things, but Khalil showed up in the best form he could've, with a solid gameplan and stood with Alex for as long as possible. Had a lot of success and big moments early, and kept trading until his body couldn't take it anymore. He can hold his head high despite the loss, it was a great performance.

Alex was toying with him and throwing flashy kicks at first but, after his corner yelled at him, he started to be more systematic and it was all downhill for Khalil…

Heart + Violence remains the formula for getting ahead in MMA

He lost the bout but now he's all anyone can talk about. I barely remember who "won" on that shitheap of a card

I give his performance a B+. I can't give him an A because he lost, and I don't feel like I can give him an A- because he got TKO'ed pretty bad. Still, a B+ is more than I expected I would be giving him right now. Good on him.

I agree with everyone who says Rountree vs. Hill should be next. That is a perfect fight to make.

One of my favourite current fighters now for sure. Cool, intelligent and kind guy, but fights like a savage. Wonder if it's possible to make changes so he can last 5 rounds. Khalil won the first two rounds on the scorecards and it's hard to say Poatan would've successfully fought more aggressively if it was a 3-rounder.

when he is "on" he's one of the most exciting fighter to watch nowadays, unfortunately sometimes he becomes gunshy and tentative and it's like he's a different fighter (yesterday it was not the case), maybe it's true that he performs at his best when he knew that it'll be a standup fight.

i like him a lot, one of the crispier boxer in his division, when he lets his punches go it's beautiful to watch.

Khalil has nothing to be ashamed of. This is a DOG performance, and his gameplan and execution was nearly flawless. When they were both fresh, Khalil was getting the better of Pereira. This just ultimately comes down to Pereira finding his range late in the third, and Khalil running out of gas.

Pereiras just a motherfucker, man.
