Props to Khalil

Rountree will look good against any top 20 fighter who will guarantee in advance to offer him a pure kickboxing match in a cage.

Seriously - pick a name in the division, anyone - and imagine Khalil gets to have an agreed upon in advance 100% standup fight in MMA gloves. This is his literal best attribute.

His heart and composure are commendable here. This was a booking where he was a live dog because he got matched up with a fighter who would offer him an MMA kickboxing match.

I have been a fan of Khalil since day 1, the guy might not be the best MMA fighter on the planet but he fucking brings it every single time, has tremendous heart and serious heat on his shots. He stood with one of the best strikers that has ever been seen in the sport for almost 4 full rounds and even won two of them.

He will always have my respect.

I mean it was a waste of time though. Khalil got heart but other than that he got worked.

Hespect for still throwing down when it looked bad. I just hated this matchup from the start.
Did you miss when he had Alex in trouble? Those were the two single hardest shots of the fight

Two times

He is still undeserving in terms of accomplishments, but he made the most of it and showed he is better than his ranking suggests.

Loved his toughness and his willingness to walk into the fire. Wont miss any of his future fights.

IMO not that undeserving.

He won 5 in a row and his last was a glossy KO over a top 10 veteran.

Alex has already beat the current #1, #3, #4. Nobody in their right mind would say #5 Rakic or #6 Oezdemir or #7 Krylov made more sense. The one argument was for Ankalaev. He fought a single time in 2023 and it was a NC against Johnny Walker, and a single win in 2024 against.... Johnny Walker.

His big moment to shine was getting booked with Jan, and he couldn't get it done. So a split draw stinker and two fights with Walker in the last 2 years. There is no big argument is is a #1 contender with that lineup.

I agree with you bro Alex did seen over confident but Roundtree created some problems with his speed and style. Just couldn't sustain it and Poatan figured him out.
No doubt…i thought Alex would have him out in the first but Khalil hung in there.

His corner should have thrown in the towel a bit before those 12 unanswered power shots tho…F em

I agree some what but Alex was literally toying with him and throwing flashy kicks at first till Glover told him to cut that shiz out…lol
I think you could tell he felt bad in the end and held back. One instance where he cancelled the knees and went to throw jabs to the stomach instead.

Remember in his tuf matches where he told his mom to shut up in the stands cause she was breaking his concentration.

Dude has fun matches that often are ride or die matches.

I can't lie l was yelling "stop the fight" at my tv. Entertaining fight though. Props to both.

I will always be a fan of his after this fight, and his post-fight speech. That man has some serious mental resolve, and he comes across as a very sincere and genuine individual. Respect
