I agree. If we praise fighters who have the awareness and restraint not to hit unconscious opponents, it's only fair that we can be critical of the hardest hitter in the sport, when he's one of the worst at not stopping when his opponent is unconscious.Those “super necessary” shots are a matter of discretion. However I do believe they reveal some about the fighter’s character. Francis always seems to take the opportunity to land a few blows on the unconscious guy. Compare this to someone like Machida or Pereira, or even Hunt… you see there’s a level of respect that isn’t there.
Not that it matters. He’s supposed to be a big, scary fighter after all.
