Prediction - Jones VS Aspinall WON'T happen in 2025

I thought if Jones really wanted the fight he would do it for 15 million.

Even if the UFC offered $30 million, Jones would then probably raise his asking price to $50 million. And so forth.

Jones is an expert at pricing himself out of fights he's scared of.

Well you got to start somewhere.

Jones main thing is he isn't going to fight for what he fought Gane or Stipe for and he shouldn't. Hell, Tom should ask for more to, but he won't. Sticking point might be Jones looking for more of guaranteed bottom and for go PPV points, as I don't think he believes Tom sells. But the UFC can easily do 15M for Jones and that should be enough to get it done.

Dana usually doesn't misspeak on potential fights like this. That kind of tells me at least an outline of a deal is in place that the UFC and Jon are comfortable with and probably working towards finalizing it. I'd say the only way it doesn't happen in 2025 is if for injury.

You're probably right.

We've been through this before with the negotiations forr Jon vs Ngannou - and we know UFC were happy to have Jon sit on the bench while negotiating, and let Ngannou leave the UFC, rather than bend to fighter demands.

Jon and his managers also know this so I'm not sure they are serious about wanting 30 mil.
But yeah - they could figure they can afford to wait and pray - or retire if the UFC doesn't budge.

They think this would open up a lot of doors they want to keep shut. They think that in the long run it's gonna cost them a lot more money(if this permanently increases salary) than one big fight would deliver.

sherdog is a weird bunch, reading the first page of comments makes me think you guys DONT want this fight to happen it's almost as if it's more important for you guys to be right about jones being a cherry picking coward than it is for this fight to happen, Which tells me if this fight did happen, jones wouldn't be properly credited to begin with.

Sticking point might be Jones looking for more of guaranteed bottom and for go PPV points, as I don't think he believes Tom sells.

Which is completely reasonable and probably true

If it does happen it won't be until november
I believe it will happen and I wll believe it will be this July as jones alluded to before. We may all have our opinions on Jones, but we all know the UFC and Dana don't like working with Jones because he makes things hard for them like Georges did. Jones is going to push and push for more money each time he fights at HW. He knows his road is at it's end and he wants to be set for life. He plays tuf o war with the UFC and dicking fans around with this "Will he/ Wont he" shit leans into it.

Jones knows what he's doing. It's like 4D negotiations. Knows it'll be easier to get the UFC to make this fight if it's all that anyone ever talks about. People speculating about these fights on twitter and other sources that keep data on what trends in the sports world will make the UFC far less reluctant to give jones a bigger cut. Again, he knows this.

If Jones was smart he would wait for the espn deal to run out in hopes ufc signs with netflix. He woukd get more than what he is asking for now. Tge inactivity, age, and rust would become an issue at that point if he doesn’t stay in shape.

Jones was too scared of losing his 0 to 1D Ngannou. It showed by pricing himself out

he finally came to HW when Ngannou left thinking there was no HW left just to be faced with an even riskier opponent in well rounded Tom. Now he's pricing himself out even more. Unfortunately for him Tom has fought and defended against more legit opponents than Jon

I predict it will, but UFC is too cheap to pick up the bill and the oil shieks save the day. Been hearing weird rumors of Ngannou Jones too, maybe that actually happens.

So why did Jones sign to fight Ngannou for UFC 285 and when the contract was offered to Ngannou he fled?

I predict it will be booked for the July card but unfortunately an "injury" will happen too close to the card for the flights and hotels to be canceled/refunded.
And thus Pantoja/Kape 2 headlines the card. Or Alex Perreira if he feels like it.

Jones gonna try his hardest to sit Tom out get hm nice and rusty so he actually has a chance against him.

Actually no, he fought Gane & Stipe for his contracted amount + PPV points.

If you're referring to Ngannou that's another subject entirely.
What you said isn't saying no to what he said, it actually kinda proves his point, which I think was ultimately agreeing with your original point so..I think we're all agreed
