I feel the same, she did come in with a real dumb game plan for the fight though. I recall her chanting Chute Box during the walk to the cage and tried that forward brawling style and got lit up by Amanda.

Beside the first and third Grasso fight, all of Shev last few fights dating back to Talia Santos have been close enough that you could argue that she's 1-4 in her last 5.

This fight is definitely BIG, but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't switch up much. Shevchenko is firmly #2, while Zhang is arguably in the Top 5. A win for Zhang solidifies her as a Top 5 P4P great. A win for Shevchenko only makes her #2 claim stronger.

Shevchenko could catch up to Nunes if she somehow does what Nunes did: Move up a weight class and dethrone the juggernaut of it. Shevchenko beating Harrison would cement her as the #1. A win over Zhang doesn't.

It's about the wins you get too, not just your worst showings. Nobody in all.of wmma has a resume like Nunes. Only Shev is close, but Amanda has the wins over Shev too.

Guess you are right, had Weili beat Rose on both occasions and then next fight, it would be undeniable though.

Could have easily lost VS Valentina on both fight but Val fought waaaay too defensively, had she pushed some grappling, Amanda would have gotten tired as she does.

And then Cyborg, the dumbass though she could/would walk through Manda punches just like JJ did with Rose in their first fight, they both got ktfo. Had she used MT and grappling instead of Brawling, again i think Amanda would have gotten tired, as she does.
