Question for PC players. Im new to PC gaming and have only played FPS with mouse and keyboard. Planning on getting Elden Ring for PC, but will play with a controller. can I use a PS5 controller or is an Xbox controller recommended? does the game system typically recognize what type of controller Im using and suggest the button commands in relation to that controller in the game's UI?

I think a related question should be if PC registers all Sony-signature haptic and adaptive-trigger feedback because all of the above has been integral to current-gen immersion, IMO. You can nock arrows and without loosing, both feel and hear the arrowhead and shaft clatter as it rests against the bow on the PS5. I know titles vary but in general, the DualSense is incredible tech when used to the fullest.

Yes you can use the PS5 controller on pc. Some games even have dual sense now on PC. This will vary from game to game though and relies on the developer doing the work.

Now that I think about it I said some games but it might only be like 1 or 2.

WIsh they'd just call it Dark Souls 4 and keep it within that IP. As is it just looks like DS anyway with the promise of newness but I'm disappointed so far. Nothing looks new at all. They probably re-used a lot of assets from DS3.

Well George RR Martin did call it a sequel to Dark Souls. I Wonder if this was just a slip up, and he meant to say “spiritual successor” or if its an accidental reveal that we find out about in game, that he didnt know he wasnt supposed to mention

I feel like I should get this reference but I’m drawing a blank.
Satire from drawing on arguably the two most annoying From-house, F-tier enemies – red spiders were Bb dungeon scourge while dogs, well, you're a vet so know the enemy type comes usually with muted wind-up and are all-around quite the pest, oftentimes getting some Hail-Mary chip in before going down.

I don't trust anything he says. Winds of Winter was supposed to come out like a decade ago. He is losing his mind.

Oh, so he was talking about the red glowing spiders that the bell bitches summon in the chalice dungeons. That’s what I thought but I second guessed myself that he was talking about something more obvious and common throughout all the souls games.

Is this what pain feels like. I was organising my backlog around the release date. It seems like February is gonna be stacked to shit, with Silksong's release date probably being in Feb.
Wouldnt be surprised if they pushed back the release date again
