How.many feet do you think you added to your throws when you cut those sleeves off.

However, what really makes those pics epic is the guy with the beard on the left hand side in 2 of them..inspirational!

A couple of feet at least - I broke my previous PR on 2 of my 3 throws with the 28# WFD.

Its actually really nice to have these pictures (and a few more) that show the sequence on the throws. Because although I'm setting PRs & getting really good numbers for a guy who's only been throwing 1 year, my positioning throughout the throw could really be improved. So I have plenty to work on.

It's also interesting to me how sore I am. My legs, upper back, traps & biceps are really sore. Really surprised that my biceps are so sore. I think its from the Caber. Obviously I need to do more curls...

Third day in a row of squatting. Legs were really sore all day, so I knew it was gonna be tough today. But I got through it, so I feel good about it. My elbows started hurting during squats, so I think I may have been letting the bar get too low on my back. Overhead Pres felt just ok.

Nice tattoos brah! Oh, and good luck with Smolov. Do you think you're going to have any recovery issues with it? I know I would.

Thanks - all my tattoos are Celtic (both shoulders & my leg) and were done by Pat Fish at Santa Barbara Tattoo. http://www.luckyfish.com/ I would love to get more tattoos they're just so damn expensive...

Also thanks about the Smolov - I don't know how difficult the recovery is going to be....I guess I'll find out. This is one of the reasons I'm starting with the Introductory 2-week Microcycle instead of launching right into 4 sets of 9 & squatting 4x a week. I'll play it by ear with the upper body work as well...I'm planning to make sure I eat & sleep plenty. Lot's of Jacuzzi time alternated with the cold pool for contrast & daily stretching & foam rolling. We'll see how it goes.....I expect PAIN. But I've earned it.

Walking Lunges today to stretch out my legs after 3 days in a row of heavy-ish squatting. Then I got SWOLE.
 
Been drinking a lot of milk lately to help with recovery. I'm mixing whole milk with my whey-based protein. This is how I mix it, works great:

Some light work today, just getting the blood flowing. My hands are pretty fucked up from the surgery yesterday. The 2 callused warts were cut out, one on the right, one on the left, and then the Doc puts my hands under a light & finds 9 more "spots" that she's a little concerned about so she freezes those with liquid nitrogen. The freezing causes them to blister, so now I have these 2 open wounds & a bunch of blisters all over my hands. Sucks. And its pretty fucking gross looking. So no jiu-jitsu for a while. 2-3 weeks probably. And I'll have to play it by ear with the weights....hopefully I can squat Monday, but a little concerned about the dirty bar. Might wear gloves.
