I think the UFC plays fighters against each other for this very reason, to get them to clash verbally and bring heat to the fight. I am sure that both Merab and Umar were told the other did not want to fight by the UFC or probably never brought the contract to the table.

Whats with the "If the UFC puts him in front of me" thing in the UFC??...in boxing champions decide who is put in front of them, take notes, they (the fighters) are the talent, not the UFC.

PS: They are VERY limited when it comes to opponents, it has to be someone from the UFC and almost all the times, someone from their own division, at least make it sound like you call the next guy out.

Boxing was broken a long time ago for this reason. The level of ducking in boxing was insane. This Turki guy is fixing things though.
