What a pussy
Maine has pretty lax gun laws.Good I'm glad he killed himself it's saves us from a trail where they try to get him off saying he was insane.
As far as gun law changes with more gun control, let's see why the laws in effect already didn't prevent this. Maybe there was a number of people that failed to do what they should have to take this guys guns and maybe force commit him.
But I'll bet the anti 2nd crowd doesn't want to hear about that when this is seen as a good opportunity to get more laws. If the laws would have prevented this doesn't matter to them as long as they can get more laws passed.
Maybe people are tired of mass murder and lax gun laws that make it easy to obtain weapons that give people the ability to kill / injure 10-20-30 people in seconds.
In this particular time, we are told that any amount of murders by guns are acceptable as the price to be paid for 2nd amendment rights. So it figures that we will continue to dehumanize one another and accept killings as more and more routine and a part of the culture here, across the board.
that is what MSN originally posted. They seemed to have changed their story now. Interesting.
The suspected Maine mass shooter has been found dead with two gunshot wounds to his head, multiple sources tell CNN. ...
Robert Card found dead in woods with 'gunshot wound to head' after three-day manhunt (msn.com)
Entry and exit....
Or maybe he bump fired it![]()
I think those are pretty reasonable compromises......But I disagree with #1. If you can handle a firearm in the military at 18, I don't see it as reasonable that you'd have to wait until 25 to own your own. And it's not like these shootings are done by just a bunch of 18 and 20 year olds. Guns should be/are supposed to be used for protection, so it doesn't make sense that you'd have to wait until you're 25 to protect yourself.Gun violence is horrible, and if we banned guns or made them VERY hard to obtain we would see a radical reduction in gun violence.
But at what cost?
The writers of the constitution feared tyranny far more than they feared their neighbor... and we should to. FAR more civilians have died or had their freedom stripped from them because they DIDN'T have a gun than because another civilian did.
The compromise that I would impose if I magically had my way:
1) Ban purchase and possession of all firearms and ammo for any person under the age of 25
2) Ban all concealable firearms, this would include handguns and all short barrelled rifles
3) Limit magazine size to standard capacity (30rds)
4) No grandfathering in illegal firearms, people must apply for an expensive special license, or sell them back to the government. A citizen shouldn't be armed less than his neighbor because they were born too late.
Doing these things would drastically increase public safety and reduce gun crime, while maintaining our 2nd amendment right for citizens to possess weapons for defense of freedom.
The media made it the sexy weapon of choice .
the firearms laws in Maine are flimsy as fuck.Good I'm glad he killed himself it's saves us from a trail where they try to get him off saying he was insane.

Some tragic event just happened and people just have this kneejerk reaction of always turning it into a political debate, it's pathetic.

I mean, it probably wouldn't have gone the way you think it would if he had a shootout with the cops unless there was a tac unit involved. With his training and expertise he would have likely turned beat cops into Swiss cheese. Him offing himself was the best possible outcome. Spares officers from death, injury , or the trauma of killing someone (unless it isn't traumatic when you kill a shit bag.)Looks like he took the Pussy’s way out. Instead, he could have had a shootout with police and he decided to swallow a bullet like the ultimate bitch. First, he goes into a bowling alley and shoots deaf people, then he shoots himself like a real fucking pussy
Basically, he was a mentally ill person, wh'd recently been laid off... he bought those guns sameday and killed people. This one isn't complicated - people who buy longbarrel semi-autos should also have some sort of pysch eval / green light on mental health.Good I'm glad he killed himself it's saves us from a trail where they try to get him off saying he was insane.

I'd agree this guy shouldn't have had guns after his first mental breakdown. Can't see how every gun buyer in the country can get a psychological evaluation though.Basically, he was a mentally ill person, wh'd recently been laid off... he bought those guns sameday and killed people.
