THe sport would be worse off if they hadnt given Conor that push. Millions and millions and milions simply dissapear,and fighters who have beaten conor,like Nate and Khabib would not be elevated to a higher status without this extreme stake raising. Every move has its place in the development of the sport. The promotion has to listen to the fans,and capitalize on pandemonium. Thats how it survives. Its literally their job.
No it wouldn't. The UFC would still grow because they have a good format.
Conor and Khamzat are not essential for the sport. The sport existed before them.
Popularity contests are not sports. Sports is a game in which there should be objective rules for everyone.
You can make a good business model with real competition.
In my eyes they should change the rules for calling someone a champion. A champion should be official with 1 title defence.
