Media Jones rejected 30 million offer to fight Aspinall

lol, that’s actually not that much, especially because Jones is already retired. Probably he will live at least another 30 years, so it’s less than a million a year. Considering inflation, in 30 years a million a year, would be like 300k today. Which is good money, but definitely not like filthy rich when you can spend however you want it. Only when you’re a billionaire, then it’s more about power and influence
Lol you don't understand money and interest.... $30 million in an interest beating account at 4% means you can live off 1.2 million dollars a year and stiill have 30 million dollars... every year

It's because Jones got the belt by fighting a contender handpicked to be vulnerable to Jones' wrestling and then derailed the division for years by refusing to fight anyone but a retired, aging champion. GSP would be criticized, too, if he derailed MW for years by refusing to fight anyone but Rich Franklin.
Fair enough for the derailing for so long. But GSP got a handpicked champ as well, so whatever the double belt added to their legacy, that is equal. Jones defending against Stipe is better than never defending for GSP, so it puts Jones over him.

No, GSP fought the actual champ. Jones fought a handpicked contender for a vacant belt.

Also, the second part is fucking insane. I never thought you were part of the "post the stupidest shit possible" crowd before.

The thing about Jones family.... he and his brothers all made millions.... I really don't even see the benefit of having 30 million more when you have 30 million unless you want political power or influence
mike tyson ran thru 120 million dollars and wound up in debt. there is no amount of money that's enough, especially these days.

In time, this shouldn't hurt Jones legacy less than Khabib rejecting his crazy money offers to keep fighting.

I'm sorry but it's fine Jones retires early at age 38, champ at a weightclass he wasn't exactly built for because he didn't want to defend the title against a 32 year old undefeated natural HW who has finished every opponent. Not only did Jones start to get injured where I don't remember him pulling out for injury as champ before, but this is the age everyone loses.

It's sort of weird how Ngannou chooses money (boxing Fury/Joshua) over legacy (fighting Jones/Aspinall/Pavlovich), yet is celebrated. While Jones chooses his legacy over money and gets shit on. I get Jones is avoiding a fight that he has high odds of losing.

But then again, his other goat competition has been excused.
-GSP retiring WW early, not defending MW or even fighting against the real top MW at the time.
-Silva started losing streak at same age Jones is retiring
-Fedor out of his prime at age 33
They're just mad they waited 17 years hoping to maybe possibly one day see Jones lose like the rest of their favourite fighters all did and he instead retired and deprived that from them.

It's bitterness.

Awwww would ya look at that, the usual suspects of the Jones glazing squad out in full force getting all butthurt and rushing to his aid. Cute.

All these years later and it's STILL too easy <lmao>

Missed out on the biggest payday of your career all while completely destroying your legacy so much worse than any loss could have done. Well played jones

Did you say the same about Khabib not rematching Conor or fighting GSP for his 30th fight in Moscow like his dad wanted?

Nope, because I am not a fucking idiot. I can use basic logic and reasoning.

Khabib retired because of a promise to his mother

GSP retired because of health issues.

Jones retired because of Tom Aspinall.

That's because he was being robbed by groups of yes men around him... like most dumb people who get money.

Doubt.
Khabib retired because of a promise to his mother.
Imagine believing this when Khabib himself said his mom didn't want him to accept the Gaethje fight either but he did it anyways. It's almost like he was a 32 year old adult capable of making his own decisions.

Or believing that he'd listen to his mother, who he already didn't when he took the Gaethje fight, over his father who was the one who had shaped his entire career, not her who had never had anything to do with it. His dad wanted him to go 30-0, not 28 or 29 like his mom supposedly did. You would think that would be the more important promise if you were going to believe this nonsense instead of accepting Khabib could make his own decisions. Dad > mom.

He also said he couldn't fight without his dad... after fighting Gaethje without his dad. Man's all over the place with his stories.

(Cause really he obviously couldn't make 155 any more and has said this multiple times since)
GSP retired because of health issues.
Amazing how his health issues let him fight Bisping but not Whittaker. Who his contract was literally written to include as his next fight if he won instead of it just being the expected standard to fight the interim. GSP knowingly broke his contract and he's lucky the UFC didn't sue him over it.

Also not quite sure what that has to do with Khabib not wanting to fight GSP for his 30th fight like his dad wanted. GSP was healthy by then, this was 2020 and onwards not 2017 when he was sick. And it was at a lower weight class when it was the heavier weight classes causing him issues.
Jones retired because of Tom Aspinall.
Jon said he was likely retiring after Stipe while Aspinall was busy fighting the Tyburas of the world and not even on the radar for title shots. It had been known for years prior it was likely his last fight.

I'm also not sure why you think the 38 year old Jones, the oldest of them when they retired, who also had the most fights among them, the longest career time wise among them, who was also coming off a year long injury, who had again said years ago he wanted Stipe as his last fight, is the one most incapable of actually having reasons to retire.

Holy fuck dude, have some tic tacs, your breath smells like Jon Jones weiner

38 year old Jones after 17 years, 30 fights, and beating the guy he said was his retirement fight for years, isn't allowed to retire according to LycanoNerd.

Okay. I'll be looking for you to keep that same standard when it's Tom's turn.

Everyone wanted Bisping, they knew it was the easiest path to get to the title, come to find out he only had one eye the whole time too, not to mention 50 year old Hendo just took Bisping to a close decision.

So fucking insane right? Jones fought Gane and Stipe back to back, to even compare that to the level of 39 year old Bisping with one eye. Wait Ngannou is a fake champ too because that's who he beat to be champ and defend his belt.

I'm being the normal one, neither GSP/Jones/Silva, any of them after done anything really worth much at their secondary weight class. None of them truly have amazing wins in the 2nd weightclass, you can discredit all of them. But objectively, 32 year old Gane + 42 year old Stipe > 39 year old one eye Bisping. Whether you want to discredit it like it's nothing, you could still say it's a larger jump for a weightclass and still more on paper than any of his competition.
