• Xenforo Cloud has scheduled an upgrade to XenForo version 2.2.16. This will take place on or shortly after the following date and time: Jul 05, 2024 at 05:00 PM (PT) There shouldn't be any downtime, as it's just a maintenance release. More info here

Jon vs Stipe, or Tom vs Curtis, which one is your #1 contender fight?

Stipe is milez ahead of the others.

People so easily forget how dominant he is, and is likely a very similar quality to Jones. We could question his age & time off, but that shouldn't make him any less of a contender just yet imo.

I think Stipe beats Tom... but again, we have the age thing as an unknown. For sure I got prime Stipe beating tom.

So? Ground game is a lot more than submission offense and Gane has only submitted cans.
A ground game Sergei has not really shown, which is baffling because of his background in Sambo and Sergei has not submitted even a can. We do not know if he even has the proficiency to do that. In his fight against Derevyanko, he had that cans back and still could not get the submission and looked lost trying to clamp it in.

The real problem is that Sergei fights everyone the same way with no thought or adaptation. Gane adapts better in a fight, has more submission wins, is a more technical striker and basically is a smarter opponent.

Won more fights in a row then Gane prior to losing to Jones/Aspinall( 6 fight win streak vs no win streak). Beat mutual competition faster and more easily than Gane(Lewis, Tai).
It's amazing that you can simultaneously claim Gane had a no win streak while also citing he'd beaten Tai.

At this point Miocic/Jones seems more like an exhibition fight (or something...) and not really relevant to the HW division. They both deserve to get paid at this point also, so I don't really care that much. Also, there isn't much more going on at HW that is much more interesting even if Aspinal vs Whoever is more relevant to the future of the division.

It’s basically a years too late legacy fight between an inactive fighter with one relevant win in the weight class vs. an inactive former champion that has zero relevant wins in today’s landscape. And the other is a top fighter with multiple relevant wins vs. a perennial top 5 contender with multiple relevant wins. Which one sounds more legitimate?

Sir Tom is on a 2 fight win streak meanwhile Blaydes is on a 1 fight win streak.

Do you understand what the word streak means? You can't have a win streak of 1 dumbass.
