Jon Jones is gonna reality check alot of people who assume Aspinall will be a threat

A prime Jon Jones that properly added weight I'd pick over Aspinall for sure. This Jon Jones is a LHW with a gut that's 38 years old.

Now, let me be clear. It's a testament to just how great a fighter he is that he can come in this way and dispatch guys like Gane and Stipe. (Yes, Stipe is even older and 4 yr layoff etc but hes still a HW fighter with some skills and Jon made it look easy). But Aspinall is just a different animal. Assuming we see the exact same Jones we saw vs Stipe, I can see the fight not looking competitive and Jon getting overwhelmed early with speed and power. But maybe Jon takes it more seriously and looks better because he knws he'll have to. We **maybe** haven't seen close to the best HW version of Jones. Or, it's just who he is now. Age etc has slowed him down. He's not capable of looking as sharp as he once did, especially if he's 240 lbs.
This makes perfect sense. The problem is that a majority of Aspinall fans refuse to admit that 1) Jones is old, 2) Jones is not a natural HW and Aspinall is the larger fighter, and 3) Jones is clearly the more skilled fighter.

Once/if Aspinall is able to pull it off, I can guarantee you the narrative will be that Aspinall was always the better fighter that would have beaten any version of Jones and Jones was a decent fighter who lost the moment he faced someone with even attributes. It is what it is-- you can't control what people think, it's just going to be annoying to have to hear that nonsense repeated by masses.

Meh, there will always be some that go that route. A win over the current version of Jones is for sure huge for Tom right now. Unifying the belts vs a GOAT coming off back to back finishes isn't Tom beating an "old washed up LHW". But it's also NOT him beating Jones at his optimal weight, in his prime. That fight can never have happened.

The Jones that ruined Shogun for the belt (and the fights leading up to it) is the best MMA fighter I've ever seen. Aspinall has the tools to be an all time great HW. And the fight is amazing if it happens. But a loss for Jones doesn't change his legacy imo. A win for Tom does change his.

The fight is pretty straitforward

Jon is far and away the superior fighter, but he's older, slower, richer, and fighting in a weight class 60lb heavier than his original natural fighting weight. He's so amazing as a fighter he's made Gane and Stipe look helpless, but how many times can an aging great have this kind of success under these circumstances?

Tom is a guy who can legitimately come into the fight at over 265lb and still retain a large amount of his speed and fighting performance because he's just that much larger of a human. Will Tom slow down and get lazy as the fight proceeds? Yes. But can you survive an onslaught from someone who has almost all the advantages? Nobody has so far.

What Jon has already accomplished is unprecedented, even if you take away the weight jump he is still one of the oldest HW champions in history.

Jones is delaying because he wants to time his juice cycle in .( not that he’s very good at that )

60/40 Jones.

Im interested to hear why current Asp is better or more proven than pre-Jones Gane or pre-Izzy Costa or pre-Jones Reyes or some other "undefeated" monsters<BC1><RIP>
Because of his skilset. Do you just look at records and not understand what you’re watching or?

toms best win is arlovski a 42 year old arlovski
arlovski is the only man he cant finished in round 1

if you think his best win isnt an ancient arlovski
then prove it
post toms best win in the ufc if he could match arlovskis achievements
That Arlovski isn’t beating Blaydes, Sergei, or Volkov, dude lol

Imagine thinking someone using "ducking" as a marketing strategy its some 4d chess lol.
Omg bro.
His legacy is built on his record, but its very shakey due to also popping so many times and his real life drama. He knows he's on his physical decline and needs to remain undefeated for his legacy.
Tom might not be the most skilled fighter he's faced, but Tom is peaking physically, and due to his size and speed, and his skill at HW, jones knows his is a HUGE risk.
Its not 4d chess, its protecting his record.
Yes it is lol, because if Jon really is getting $30 mil from Dana and that was (notice I said "was" and not "definitely is" you obviously have some reading comprehension problems so I figured I'd help you out a bit) his plan all along then it truly was a brilliant move on his part.
Again, not even saying that's 100% the case but that it's a strong possibility. As we are (hopefully) getting closer to the fight finally being made it's seeming more and more likely to be the case imo.
BTW, while the Jones fanboys are a bit delusional and they sometimes say whacky things, y'all Jon haters talk as if he is the love child of Adolf Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Joseph Stalin, John Wayne Gacy, Charles Manson, and Satan all wrapped into one lmao. I swear, sometimes I think I'm the only person on this site who talks about Jon as objectively as possible. Same thing with Conor and Ronda.
